Jesus walking back from Judea to his home in Galilee which is north, decided to walk through the region of Samaria and gives us some insight to help us understand worship.
Background
Samaria was found because of the Assyran army who waged war against northern kingdom when Isreal went through its Civil war. They ultimately adopted some of the Jewish traditions and beliefs, but because the King Jehoiada married the daughter of Sanballat, fled here because he was rejected and called out by Nehemiah who rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem. Over time this region

John 4:20-24 NLT

So tell me, why is it that you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place of worship, while we Samaritans claim it is here at Mount Gerizim, where our ancestors worshiped?”

21 Jesus replied, “Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem.

22 You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about him, for salvation comes through the Jews.

23 But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.

24 For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

Here Jesus indicates that the mixture of what she believed as worship was not accurate.
God the Father, is looking for this,

Genesis 22:1-15 NLT

Gen 22 1-15
Genesis 22:1–15 (NLT)
1 Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called.
“Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.”
2 “Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”
3 The next morning Abraham got up early. He saddled his donkey and took two of his servants with him, along with his son, Isaac. Then he chopped wood for a fire for a burnt offering and set out for the place God had told him about. 4 On the third day of their journey, Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. 5 “Stay here with the donkey,” Abraham told the servants. “The boy and I will travel a little farther. We will worship there, and then we will come right back.”
6 So Abraham placed the wood for the burnt offering on Isaac’s shoulders, while he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them walked on together, 7 Isaac turned to Abraham and said, “Father?”
“Yes, my son?” Abraham replied.
“We have the fire and the wood,” the boy said, “but where is the sheep for the burnt offering?”
8 “God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham answered. And they both walked on together.
9 When they arrived at the place where God had told him to go, Abraham built an altar and arranged the wood on it. Then he tied his son, Isaac, and laid him on the altar on top of the wood. 10 And Abraham picked up the knife to kill his son as a sacrifice. 11 At that moment the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”
“Yes,” Abraham replied. “Here I am!”
12 “Don’t lay a hand on the boy!” the angel said. “Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son.”
13 Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket. So he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of his son. 14 Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the Lord will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”
15 Then the angel of the Lord called again to Abraham from heaven.
Law of first mention
Now there a principles we want to be aware of when reading scripture. One of those is the “the Law of first mention”
We will go up and worship!
The revelation of the Character of God was realized
Worship: Sacrifice of something that is precious, burning flesh was a pleasing armoma to God!
We recognize that Abraham, was not just brining anything to be sacrificed, but it was His son. Abraham.
For worship to happen, something must be given
On the altar was placed sacrifices, often of our valuable things. It was valuable to them. Here Abraham, was asked by God to give of the most significant item, that which God promised.
what we own we are responsible for, If God owns our time treasure and talent he can grow and multiply all of it.
Time-This is not looking at a devotional time, but I pray you have a occupation, where recognize that you are on mission with Jesus, its not just a “job”,
The differences between a job, a career and a calling: Dan Trommeter Says:
A job - Typically seen as a means to an end. We need money - we get a job
A career - A position that pays the bills and gives an opportunity for advancement and growth. But once you advance to the top, a career can feel meaningless.
A calling (Summoned)- Feels connected to your purpose and values. Yes, a calling can pay the bills, but it also connects to the difference you want to make in the world.
You are on mission, you make life happen, it is not always happening to you!
Treasure-Money, Have you consecrated the income you receive to God. Do we plan and look forward to the beginning of the year, and talk, how much can we give for the work of the Gospel?
Talents-The ability God has given you.
Have you taken time to identify what that ability is? Are you using those abilities?
Have they been set apart?

Exodus 31:2-6

Then the LORD said to Moses,

2 “Look, I have specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.

3 I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts.

4 He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze.

5 He is skilled in engraving and mounting gemstones and in carving wood. He is a master at every craft!

6 “And I have personally appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, to be his assistant. Moreover, I have given special skill to all the gifted craftsmen so they can make all the things I have commanded you to make:

The Inward Bow
Our Worship not only a heart posture, (Humility) a bowing, to the rule and authority of Christ but it is reflected outwardly with the precious things we have. To create the culture and rule of the Kingdom where ever we go.
The altar of Worship was often instructed to be constructed with uncut and unbroken stones. (The authentic and real) not manufactured
Dr Noel Due- “God is to be worshipped not simply because he demands to be, but because it is the proper destiny of his creation, anything else dishonors it.”
Satan wants us to compromise and bow to him, what did he ask of Jesus bow to me and worship me.
William Seymour, Sparked the known pentecostal movement, that continues to grow and in the next 10 yrs is projected to be the largest move of God in the planet. It started with him modeling humility in a way that shocked me.
