TCP Speaking Practicuum

What if I told you there are more levels and dimensions to your spiritual journey that you have yet to reach?
I am Jennifer Murphy; The Spiritual Purpose Pusher and I am here to ignite a fire in you for the presence of God through prayer. First, I applaud you for showing up. It’s not easy pushing through mindsets of comfort or even settling into the idea that you need more spiritual strength. See, as a young girl I was always different I never quite fit in with the popular kids nor did I fit in with the super nerdy ones either. I found myself in between not quite enough and almost enough. There was always a feeling of discontent and even great sadness due to my inability to connect to one of those groups. But one day, while in a church service I experienced a touch that I had never felt before, a love that I had never knew before, an amazing spark down on the inside of me, something new and fresh that would shift my life forever. If you’re listening to me right now, maybe you’ve felt that touch, experienced that love and the spark down on the inside awakened you. If you have, I want you to take a moment and reflect or remember how that felt, and ask yourself have I felt that way since? (Pause) If you’ve never experienced what I am expressing, I want you to hold tight and take this journey with me. Now this is going to go fast, so grab your journals and pens and invest in yourself tonight. This is your opportunity to be ignited or reignited as we dive into one of the most valuable tools in my personal spiritual tool kit and that’s prayer! Is that alright?
I want you to know I didn’t just roll over one day and start praying. God begin working on me as a little girl and as I grew up, I remember being called to pray. While in college I would host powerful prayer meetings in my dorm rooms, and honestly, I didn’t even know what I was doing but because I had such a love for God and his presence, he would meet us there. See when you love God he shows up. I was always taught More Prayer, More Power! A life without prayer is a life without divine access to God’s promises. And just like our physical bodies need nurturing and exercise to stay healthy, our spiritual bodies need the same nurturing and exercise to gain strength and power. Prayer builds spiritual muscle and without it we are weak to the attacks, the snares, and tricks of the enemy. God’s word tells us that we should “pray without ceasing” that means be constantly building our spiritual muscles. See the enemy is always on his job seeking whom he may devour but through prayer we strengthened the hedge around us, and our families and we develop power to cause phenomenal things to happen. See, Prayer is the vehicle that will get you to your divine destination (Let me say that again) I have to say, I absolutely love God and I’m crazy about entering His gates with Thanksgiving and His courts with praise. I haven’t always been this way. There were times in my life where I found myself broken, desolate, disconnected, and depressed. I know without a shadow of a doubt that Prayer shattered glass ceilings in my life and caused walls of hindrance, frustration and stagnation to crumble. (Can anyone relate?) It was in my moments of weakness that God’s strength was perfected. Does God want us broken? No! Absolutely not, but He knows what He can do when you are at your weakest point. See I always lean into God’s math, (God is the only one that can subtract, and you have more) did you hear that? (He’s the only one that can subtract, and you have more!).
So I want to share “5 Golden Nuggets for Establishing and Maintaining a Healthy Prayer Life” one that yields fruit and releases the blessings of God. If you’re ready just wave at me.
The
1st Golden Nugget- Make Time for Him First
Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
When you show Him that He is first, He can trust you to make you first. Set aside time in His presence so that he can pour into you. His mercies are new every morning. Come on say it out of your mouth “I want the new mercies “So put Him first and allow Him to release precious downloads that will impact your entire day.
‌The
2nd Golden Nugget- Read His Word
Psalms 119:105
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”‌
Read His word so that you have access to a divine roadmap and a well-lit path. When you read His word, you find answers, you find strength, you find joy, you find peace, you increase your faith. Come on let’s say it “increase my desire for your word”.
T‌hat leads me to the 3rd Golden Nugget
- Apply His Word in Prayer
We cannot just read his word. We must Apply His Word in Prayer. God didn’t just give us words on a paper to inspire us, but to call us to action. Prayer is an activator!(2x) It calls us to move into the things of God. You may be saying, “I don’t know what to say, or where to start?” and that’s okay. Open your bible to
Psalm 23
“The Lord is my Sheppherd I shall not want He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul…You see how those words begin to stir your spirit. Because His word is Life!
Psalm 51:10
Create in me a clean heart Oh God and renew a right spirit within me. As you pray His word, it brings life. Have you heard the saying “you are what you eat?” Then let’s eat the word! and become walking, living, breathing word. When you apply the word, you allow the word to do the work. Come on let’s say that together “Let the word do the work”
4th Golden Nugget-Posture Matters-Your posture matters
He’s always speaking, so what posture am I referring to? It’s the posture of your heart. How is your heart postured when you come into his presence? Are you full of pride? Are you fearful of what He might say? Or Do you believe He is a rewarder of them that seek him diligently? When your heart is open and yielded to God not only is He able to pour into you but He’s able to pour through you, let me say that again “ Not only will he pour into you, He will pour through you” so remember your heart’s posture.
and the 5th and Final Golden Nugget- The Holy Spirit is Necessary
Say it with me “The Holy spirit is necessary”
In
John 14:16
Jesus says “I will ask the Father and He will give you another helper, that He may be with you forever”
When we partner with our helper (the Holy Spirit) our prayer is elevated to another level. Then, you can pray God’s will for your life. We want His kingdom to come, His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Prayer brings His kingdom to earth.
I believe that prayer is thee essential worker and when you grab a hold to these golden nuggets you will have tapped in to a healthier prayer life.
Again,
1-Make time for Him first
2- Read His word
3-Apply His word in Prayer- Let the word do the cutting and the equipping!
4-Posture Matters- We need to protect our hearts at all costs. Make sure you are positioned for breakthrough.
5- The Holy Spirit is Necessary
CLOSING
You may not always get things right, but you cannot afford to get prayer wrong. Remember how you felt when you first believed or grab hold to what you feel in this moment and allow it to awaken a deep yearning for the presence of God through the power of prayer. Remember Little Prayer, Little Power…Some Prayer Some Power, More Prayer More Power. Prayer is the vehicle that will get you to your divine destination.
