*“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” - Romans 12:2*
Good morning, young soldiers of Christ! Today, I'd like to share with you a message that is essential for your walk with Jesus, especially in the world we find ourselves in today. Let’s talk about how to stay firm in Jesus when it feels like the world, especially your friends, might be pulling you in a different direction.
1. **Know Who You Are in Christ**
* *“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” - 1 Peter 2:9*
Friends, before we talk about anything else, you need to grasp this truth: you are chosen, you are royal, you are set apart for a purpose. Knowing who you are in Christ sets the foundation. You’re not just any teenager or young adult; you’re a child of the King! And that identity comes with responsibility but also immense power and grace.
2. **Surround Yourself with Godly Company**
* *“Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” - Proverbs 13:20*
The people you choose to surround yourself with can either pull you towards Christ or push you away. Now, I’m not saying that every friend you have should be perfect; none of us are. But if they don’t respect your love for Jesus or pressure you to go against His teachings, it might be time to evaluate that relationship. Surround yourself with those who uplift you, challenge you, and draw you closer to Jesus.
3. **Root Yourself in the Word and Prayer**
* *“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” - Psalm 119:105*
The Bible isn’t just a book; it’s your life manual. Dive deep into it, and you'll find answers, comfort, guidance, and strength. Just like you can’t build muscles without regular exercise, you can’t strengthen your spiritual life without a daily dose of the Word. And complement it with prayer. Talk to Jesus. Tell Him your challenges, fears, hopes, and dreams. Let Him be your closest confidant.
In conclusion, dear young friends, I want to leave you with the powerful words of Ephesians 6:13: *“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”*
You’re not alone in this journey. The entire family of believers is with you, and more importantly, Jesus is with you every step of the way. Stay firm, stay faithful, and let the world see the light of Christ shine through you! Amen.
