Remain in Him

Outline:
How to Walk in the Anointing
intro- He has anointed us to live in this world victoriously
Remain in Christ
1 John 2:27–28 CSB
As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need anyone to teach you. Instead, his anointing teaches you about all things and is true and is not a lie; just as it has taught you, remain in him. So now, little children, remain in him so that when he appears we may have confidence and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
Anointing is the presence of God in our life
Purify Yourself
1 John 3:3 CSB
And everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself just as he is pure.
The Word of God is truth in which we sanctify ourselves
Renewing keeps us from conforming
We belong to God not this world (1 John 3:1)
We are the Children of God- act like it
Don’t become enslaved to what Jesus has set us free from
Do the works of Jesus-
Practice Righteousness
1 john
We are able because Jesus has destroyed the work of the Devil
1 John 3:7 CSB
Little children, let no one deceive you. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.
Acts 10:38 CSB
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how he went about doing good and healing all who were under the tyranny of the devil, because God was with him.

Scripture: 1 John 2:27-3:10

1 John 2:27 ESV
But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.
The anointing is not some mystical something out there. The anointing is the presence and power of God manifested.
Rodney Howard-Browne
The Anointing that John Speaks of is the presence of God’s Spirit that is active in our lives
John 14:26 CSB
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.
This anointing only comes through the Spirit
our responsibility is to : Remain in Him
John 15:5 CSB
I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me.
When we remain in Christ we produce the fruit of the life of Christ in our own lives-
We become like
1 John 3:2 (CSB)
Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when he appears, we will be like him because we will see him as he is.
We do things that He does
Because We are children of God
1 John 2:28–29 (CSB)
So now, little children, remain in him so that when he appears we may have confidence and not be ashamed before him at his coming. If you know that he is righteous, you know this as well: Everyone who does what is right has been born of him.
Jesus with Nicodemus says
John 3:5–6 CSB
Jesus answered, “Truly I tell you, unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Whatever is born of the flesh is flesh, and whatever is born of the Spirit is spirit.
You must be Spiritually born- and the fruit of People who are Spiritually born
They do what is right
They live righteously
they purify themselves-

WE can keep ourselves free from the entanglement of the devil by remaining in Him
We can hinder the Life of God within us-

Everyone who remains in him does not sin; everyone who sins has not seen him or known him.
When we remain in Sin we remain under the control of the Devil-
This is why so many lives are broken still
This is why depression control many Christian
this is why Fear and anxiety dictate some believers lives
But Jesus

The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me
to proclaim release to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to set free the oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
