An Old Testament Story

Isaiah 6:1-7

Jesus died and the veil was torn (Luke 23:44-46)

Access to God is now open for sinners

It was opened by tearing the curtain in two

It was torn by the tearing His body for us

A new and living way

It is new because Christ has accomplished what the old sacricial system new could

It is living because He didn’t stay dead. He is alive!

Now we have confidence to enter the most holy place (Hebrews 10:19-23)

The relationship that was severed is restored

We have access to God here and now through prayer

We are given His Spirit to dwell in us

We have endless joy in His presence forever

We have no confidence in ourselves

We can never clean ourselves up enough to get ourselves in

Jesus’ blood shed for you is your only confidence

By faith in Him you can have rock-solid confidence

Jesus is our High Priest forever

He shed His own blood to wash you clean

His sacrifice was once for all time

He is 100% for you

He understands your weakness and meets your needs

Hebrews 4:14-16

He is faithful and won’t walk out on the job

Draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith

Not because your parents and friends believe in Jesus

Not because we believe in Jesus

Draw near because you put your faith in Jesus

He will receive everyone who comes to Him in faith
