Matthew 22:11–14 NASB 2020
11 “But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw a man there who was not dressed in wedding clothes, 12 and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without wedding clothes?’ And the man was speechless. 13 Then the king said to the servants, ‘Tie his hands and feet, and throw him into the outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth in that place.’ 14 For many are called, but few are chosen.”

doesn’t God want everyone to be saved?
does God practice favoritism over men?

2 Peter 3:9 NASB 2020
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.

Not everyone is interested in God’s program

the first invitation was rejected - the first group was unworthy
the second invited was offered to all
but some were thrown out

2 types of people who cannot be saved

the Jews
Anyone who has no regard for the saving work of God
those who make themselves ready to enjoy salvation
Christians who do not live holy lives
the saved are those who called AND chosen
called by the gospel
through the gospel
chosen
Eph 1:4 - those who were designed by God to be holy in Christ
the chosen today are those who are willing to become

the righteous acts of the saints - Rev 19:7-8
Revelation 19:7–8 NASB 2020
Let’s rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, because the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His bride has prepared herself.” It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
Isaiah 61:10 NASB 2020
I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, My soul will be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a groom puts on a turban, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
your righteous living today
Revelation 3:18 NASB 2020
I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to apply to your eyes so that you may see.
Revelation 16:15 NASB 2020
(“Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, so that he will not walk about naked and people will not see his shame.”)
