Christian Standard Bible Chapter 3
There is no one righteous, not even one.
11 There is no one who understands;
there is no one who seeks God.
12 All have turned away;
all alike have become worthless.
There is no one who does what is good,
not even one.,
13 Their throat is an open grave;
they deceive with their tongues.,
Vipers’ venom is under their lips.,
14 Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.,
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 ruin and wretchedness are in their paths,
17 and the path of peace they have not known.,
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.,

In the above reading Mike states, “Spirituality is not about being fixed; it is about God’s being present in the mess of our unfixedness.” Can you restate this in your own words? Can you explain how this plays out in your life?
The Bible is filled with stories of messed up people? Can you think of any stories that you know where the “Good Guy” does some really messed up stuff? What can we learn from these stories?
There are to dysfunctional ways of dealing with the messiness of our lives. 1. We try to hide the mess by putting on a mask that conceals our flaws, or 2. We let the messiness define us in the name of being “real.” Which of these two do you tend towards? What can you change in your life to be vulnerable about your messiness without glorifying it?
