Introduce myself

The purpose of this space tonight is to begin the process of creating life-changing community for you
When we say life-changing community, we quite literally mean being a part of this community of followers of Jesus could change your life forever, for the good of course
Have you ever been a part of a group of people where it quite literally seemed life-changing?
There are a couple of things that we believe are the recipe for creating this type of community:
Jesus
Vulnerability
We’ll have plenty of time to talk about Jesus, but I want to talk about and lead us into vulnerability
Vulnerability is making yourself susceptible to risk or harm.
Parts of my story that have been the hardest to share:
Stand up if:
You’ve experienced loss
You’ve been bullied
You’ve been ashamed of something that you did
Someone has made you feel embarrassed
You’ve experienced shame for how God made you, physically
You just put yourself out there in a way that was incredibly courageous; well done. You were also authentic. Being authentic means not hiding anything, no lies. You’re not changing who you are.
James 5:13–16 ESV
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
Regardless of what you’re experiencing, you bring it to you community
Suffering → pray
Cheering → sing praise
Sick → pray over one another
Confess your sins and pray for each other
Prayer & Praise seem to be two ways to create life-changing community
That’s my prayer for us: would be pray over each other & praise God together
Let’s do it.
