So he replied to the messengers, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.
Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”
Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert.
Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt?
And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness?
And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed?
So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.
And they returned from spying out the land after forty days.
Now they departed and came back to Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel in the Wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh; they brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.
Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.
Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there.
The Amalekites dwell in the land of the South; the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the banks of the Jordan.”
Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”
But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.”
And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature.
There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”
WHAT UNBELIEF DOES TO PEOPLE OF FAITH
1- Unbelief makes people to see the worst in every situation
Having an attitude of unbelief can cause individuals to only see the negative aspects of any given situation.
Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there.
2- Unbelief makes people not to see any possibility in a given situation
Lack of belief can prevent individuals from recognizing any potential opportunities in a particular scenario.
The Amalekites dwell in the land of the South; the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the banks of the Jordan.”
3- Unbelief exaggerates the situation than it actually is
And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature.
4- Unbelief causes people to have a poor self-image.
There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”
5- Unbelief can be contagious and cause other people to be full of fear.
So all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night.
A- They forget their past experiences with God
Then the Lord said to Moses: “How long will these people reject Me? And how long will they not believe Me, with all the signs which I have performed among them?
B- They become comfortable with the present status Quo.
and they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that You, Lord, are among these people; that You, Lord, are seen face to face and Your cloud stands above them, and You go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and in a pillar of fire by night.
C- They were fearful of the future
And all the congregation said to stone them with stones. Now the glory of the Lord appeared in the tabernacle of meeting before all the children of Israel.
HOW TO FEED YOU FAITH AND STARVE UNBELIEF
A- Always remind yourself and be grateful for what God has done.
It is important to consistently remind oneself to express gratitude for all that God has done. Taking time to reflect on the blessings bestowed upon us can help cultivate a positive outlook and deepen our sense of appreciation for life's many gifts. By acknowledging and giving thanks for the abundance in our lives, we can foster a sense of contentment and peace that can help sustain us through difficult times. Therefore, it is essential to make gratitude a regular practice and to recognize the many ways in which we are blessed.
Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them.
Always be obedient and take action towards your desire.
It is vital to maintain a sense of obedience and act upon your goals and aspirations to succeed. You can create a path towards a fulfilling and satisfying life by staying committed to your desires and consistently taking action
Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”
Always be fully dependent on God for your future.
Rely entirely on God to guide your path and lead you towards a prosperous future. Trusting in His divine plan and seeking His guidance in all aspects of life can bring peace, clarity, and purpose to your journey. By surrendering control and placing your faith in Him, you can rest assured that your future is in good hands.
Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.”
