NEWER

God will reveal to you the way to think.
Paul doesn’t need to do any convincing
He knows its the work of the Lord.
Philippians 1:6 (NKJV) — 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
Philippians 2:13 (NKJV) — 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
being freed from the pasts self righteousness
or past failures, or past hurts,
and living for Jesus, gaining Jesus, knowing Jesus
getting to know Him
pressing on to the upward call.
its so much bettrer
We are His work

New:

a moving from the pasts failures, problems,
heart aches, successes,
self righteousness,
keeping the past in the past.
its about what Jesus has ahead.
What does He want,
Doing what He has called for you
Working on the things
He wants to work on
Whats rule do the citizens of heave follow?
pressing on!
Does the past hold any power in your life?
Have we truly become a one thing people?
all about pressing on towards what Jesus has for us?
laying hold of that which He had laid hold of me?
to the degree which we have already attained...
where are we at in the process.
so im portant to lay hold of why he laid hold of
you dont to live like rest of world lives
we belong to him
we have a purposer
lay hold
and i just love how Paul mentions that he has told them this often
he is writing this weeping
this isnt a we are right because were better then them and more right then them
this is a broken over the way people are walking
They are missing out on Jesus
He knows what its like to be an enemy of the cross
so may this verse cause us to have broken hearts for people with a walk
a way of living without Jesus
may it also remind us of how we also once walked in that way.
Our flesh wants us to walk like that...

Intro

Have This Mind (Philippians 3:15-16)

Philippians 3:15 (NKJV)
15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind....
Christian maturity? this sounds important.
Have what mind?
“therefore”
Philippians 3:12–14 NKJV
12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
the mind of forgetting and reaching forward to whats ahead
(Laying hold of what He has laid hold of me, and pressing toward the goal of the upward call of God in Christ).
get into this more as the rest of the text is built off this.
So maturity = growing is doing this.
and Paul said if you think otherwise...
Philippians 3:15 (NKJV)
15 ....and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
So God will show you that
this is the way.
verse 16 continue
Philippians 3:16 NKJV
16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.
“to degree we have already attained”
shows us that we will be in different places with forgetting whats behind and pressing on”
but we are following the same rule, same mind.
leading us to v. 17

Follow the example (Philippians 3:17)

Philippians 3:17 NKJV
17 Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.
In verses 17 Paul encourages to follow the example of those
following the same rule, having same mind:
Paul encourages to find people living in this way:.
it implies that there is not many who do.
He says to note them who walk in this way
because many walk this way:

Contrast (Philippians 3:18-19)

Philippians 3:18–19 NKJV
18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things.
many people walk as enemies of the cross
they walk according to their own apettite
they are proud of what will shame them.
they set their mind on earthly things.
this pains Paul (often, weeping)
as he knows they are enemies of the cross of Christ
and their end is destruction
This way of walking is heart breaking:
because they are missing out on Jesus!
Walking in the way of forgetting past and pressing forward to the upward call.
as he continues to share the great benefit of Jesus:

Because (Philippians 3:20-4:1)

Philippians 3:20–4:1 NKJV
20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. 1 Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brethren, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, beloved.
citizenship in heaven
transform our bodies to conform to His body?
according the the working - thats able to subdue all to Himself?
so standfast and eagerly wait
I love the eagerly wait for the Savior
Maybe do something with the stand fast and wait eagrly
to bring it back to
the walk, mind, examples
to live like citizens of heaven!
end.

Urge Others? (Philippians 4:2-3)

Philippians 4:2–3 NKJV
2 I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. 3 And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.
