7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: Thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, And thy right hand shall save me.
Introduction
Thank Bro. Ben and bring greetings from church.
Greet Bro. Darrell
The Revival for Me.
(Explain Revive)
Caleb’s daughter “Give me also springs”
“Revive” Hebrew Definition
châyâh, khaw-yaw’; a prim. root [comp. 2331, 2421]; to live, whether lit. or fig.; caus. to revive:— keep (leave, make) alive, × certainly, give (promise) life, (let, suffer to) live, nourish up, preserve (alive), quicken, recover, repair, restore (to life), revive, (× God) save (alive, life, lives), × surely, be whole.
14 Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: Look down from heaven, and behold, And visit this vine;
15 And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, And the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.
16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down: They perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
17 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, Upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.
18 So will not we go back from thee: Quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
19 Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts, Cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
The idea is that without your favor we are a dead vine, but when the atmosphere is right between us, we are quickened to life.
This word appears as quicken 11 times in Psalm 119:
25 DALETH. My soul cleaveth unto the dust: Quicken thou me according to thy word.
37 Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; And quicken thou me in thy way.
40 Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: Quicken me in thy righteousness.
50 This is my comfort in my affliction: For thy word hath quickened me.
88 Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; So shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.
93 I will never forget thy precepts: For with them thou hast quickened me.
107 I am afflicted very much: Quicken me, O Lord, according unto thy word.
149 Hear my voice according unto thy lovingkindness: O Lord, quicken me according to thy judgment.
154 Plead my cause, and deliver me: Quicken me according to thy word.
156 Great are thy tender mercies, O Lord: Quicken me according to thy judgments.
159 Consider how I love thy precepts: Quicken me, O Lord, according to thy lovingkindness.
Notice the association between revival or quickening and the Word.
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
The Word Itself is Spirit. It is Spirit in Word form. And then, you see, when It is quickened, or brought to life, the Spirit of the Word goes to work and acts. 63-0321 - "The Fourth Seal"
When someone tries to make you choose between revival and the Word it is a false choice.
The Holy Ghost will always point to the Word. If It points to a creed or denomination, it is not the Holy Ghost. He couldn’t do that, point away from His Word, when He died to confirm that Word and make that Word a positive. Amen.
He died so He could come, Himself, into that Word. He is the quickening Life that makes that Word live again. That was His purpose of dying, that He could still project Himself through His Church, and make every Word, through every age, act just exactly the way It’s supposed to act.
He is the dynamics of the mechanics. The mechanics of the Church, what is it? Apostles, prophets, teachers, so forth. And He is the dynamics that works that.
He is the Fire that fires off the gas. He is the Fire that’s in the combustion chamber, that when the gas, the Word, is poured over that combustion chamber, He is the One that sets her afire. He is the One that confirms it. He is the power of the resurrection. He is God. He, He is the Fire, that’s what He is. 63-1201M - "An Absolute"
We know that the worldwide sweeping revival is over. The denominations have been “killed with death” , like Jezebel, according to the Message of Elijah.
21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
That’s the last plague that’s hit the Pentecostal church, is spiritual death. She is dead. That’s in the Name of the Lord. She is spiritually dead. He gave her a place to repent, and she rejected It. Now she is dead. She’ll never rise again. The Fourth Seal
34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!
35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
Ichabod has been written on the door. The Word is outside the church. Christ has been crucified afresh.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Voice in the midst of the four beasts.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
You might say “Bro. Ben, I know these things”. But is there revival for me? I’m a believer, but sometimes I get dry. I love this Message, but sometimes the passion isn’t there like it used to be. I remember a time when the supernatural God worked in my life, and now it seems I’m thirsty and dry, and my only weapon is argument.
Now I live to be critical, I’ve gotten to a place that I’m so sticky I can’t agree with myself. Is there revival for me?
Am I doomed to this condition? No joy? No peace? The fruits of the Spirit withered away? Is the Bride age with the fulness of the Word a desert place?
The fact that I have a desire to be revived, shows my portion is not with those who have left the Word outside, knocking. The Deep calls to the deep, if there’s a deep calling for revival, there must be revival somewhere.
1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, So panteth my soul after thee, O God.
2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: When shall I come and appear before God?
3 My tears have been my meat day and night, While they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: For I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, With the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him For the help of his countenance.
6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee From the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: All thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
8 Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night his song shall be with me, And my prayer unto the God of my life.
There is revival for me.
“When the deep calleth to the Deep”: It takes more than joining a church. It takes more than shaking hands with the preacher. It takes more than living a good, straight life. It takes something to satisfy inside of you, that pours down from God, into the soul. “The deep calling to the Deep, at the noise of Thy waterspouts, O Lord. The deep calling to the Deep!” 65-0919 - "Thirst"
Samson at the Fountain of “Enhakorre” “one calling”
You have a thirst for the things of God, but many times we try to satisfy with something of the world.
No amount of entertainment will ever satisfy the deep calling of the soul.
What do you want?
Are you happy with being a dead church member? Or is there a desire for something more?
By your desire, you can tell who is on the throne of your heart. By what you love, that’s what tells. You, you say, “Well, I think them things are all right, Brother Branham.” Well, just remember now, in your heart, you know what’s there.
Yes, sir. By what is feeding your soul, what your soul is thirsting for, and you can see it satisfies that; if it isn’t this Word, then there is something wrong, because the Holy Spirit lives on the Word only. 65-0919 - "Thirst"
“But Bro. Ben, I’m a good person, I don’t drink or smoke, I don’t cuss, I go to church.”
But aren’t you just a little bit tired of playing church? Have you neglected the thirst for revival?
You say, “I have a holy thirst. But I’m not guilty, Brother Branham, of just go and joining church, and things like this.” But, see, to neglect a thirst! If you neglect to satisfy a thirst of water or food, you will die. And if you neglect that thirst in you, for God, you will spiritually die.
You call for revivals, you wait for your church to have a revival. Well, that ain’t the revival for you. The revival ought to begin right in you, when you begin to thirst for God.
There might not be another member, of the church, wanting that revival. If it breaks out in you, it will break out other places. See? But, see, you neglect that thirst.
You neglect to milk the cow, when the cow is…the udder is full of milk; and if you let that cow stay like that, she’ll go dry. That’s exactly right. If you neglect to take a drink of water, say, “I just ain’t going to drink anymore,” you’ll die. You neglect to eat food, you’ll die.
181 So if you neglect to give the Holy Spirit the Word of God, you’ll die. 65-0919 - "Thirst"
The revival for me, is a Word revival.
Education can never bring Life. It takes the Spirit of God to bring Life, and that Life must not come out of just the intellectual revival. It’s got to come out of the Bible, Word revival, and that Word is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
And when It falls today, and quickens, you get the same results you did in Acts 2. Exactly. It always has, and it always will be, because it’s the Spirit of God that conditions the atmosphere. 65-0123 - "Broken Cisterns"
But I thought we can’t have a revival of any kind.
In “Christ is Revealed in His Own Word” Bro. Branham deals with the concept of no revival. He talks about the Son of Man ministry and says this:
Do you see it, church? [Congregation says, “Amen.”—Ed.] The Son of man, Elohim, was revealed just for a few minutes. For, the very next morning she was burned, (when?) before the sun could come up again.
(Woman at the well)
So there can’t be no organization left, neither can there be any further advancement than what’s going right now, for she’ll burn before the day breaks again. The revival is over, across the nation. There ain’t going to be no more revivals, big sweeping revivals; this nation never receive it.
You might have a intellectual gathering. But, I mean, a Spiritual revival, we’ve seen all of it. I hope you’re catching it. I’m saying it in such a way that I hope you get it. See? It’s over.
A fine minister said, a while ago, said, “Brother Branham, if I could just have the joy of the Lord in my heart!”
I said, “Son, the revival is over.” See?
Now the stabilizers has been put on the ship. Great fearful waves are out here before us; but we know, just beyond that wave yonder, we’re nearing the shore. See? We’re nearing the shore. Just stay stabled. Just stay in the Word. Stay with God. No matter how you feel, what anything else; stay right with the Word.
Let it stay stable, when you see all these great big old clouds around us, and storms coming, and atomic bombs, and everything else they’re talking about. But our stabilizer is right straight in the Word. God said it would be here; we’ll crest every one of them. Yeah, we’ll go right over the top of them. Yes, indeed!
They, they can’t sink us. They can’t drown us. You put us in the grave; we’ll come out again. That’s just all there is to it. There ain’t no way in the world to keep it down there. We’ll crest every one of them, ’cause our great Chief Captain is calling at the other side. 65-0822M - "Christ Is Revealed In His Own Word"
Its a wonderful quote, but its been used to justify a lack of joy in the heart.
“Bless God, the revival is over. I’m dead and I’m proud of it”.
Remind me not to ask you to pray for me.
Example: Bubbling Brook
You will not have joy as the result of a worldwide sweeping revival. It will not come from the outside, but the revival for you is not a worldwide sweeping revival. It’s not an Asbury revival, a Methodist revival or a Pentecostal revival. Our revival is a Bride revival.
The same prophet that said the revival is over said this:
Some of you people that really believe This to be the Truth, that we’re entering another age, we’re entering the Raptured Age, you know the church can’t go in its condition, and it can’t get any better. It must get worse.
How many knows that? Say, “Amen.” [Congregation says, “Amen.”—Ed.] It’s got to get worse. And it can’t go like this. See? It’s got to be Something, and It’s moving right now, friend.
It’s on, the move is on for the Bride. That’s the Truth. That’s THUS SAITH THE LORD. 65-1125 - "The Invisible Union Of The Bride Of Christ"
The move is on for the rapture. Luther had a revival of Justification etc., but our revival is a rapture revival. It’s joy unspeakable, peace that passes understanding.
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, They stumbled and fell.
3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: Though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
Notice how personal this is.
4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple.
5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: In the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock.
Here is our revival.
6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: Therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
My revival is not in my favorite preacher, its not subject to to your opinion, I am set upon a rock of revelation. I will not be moved.
In the Old Testament there were three different kinds of light in the tabernacle.
Look at the light, on the outside in the courts it was the firmament that lit it up, sunlight, and so forth. Some days was cloudy; some days the sun didn’t shine at all. Some days it was dark. Now, that’s in the outer court. 55-1006A - "A Hidden Life"
This person’s revival is dependent on the weather. Whether or not the church is doing good. Whether or not my favorite preacher is in town. Whether or not my favorite song makes me happy. This is not my revival.
The next court was the lamp of God where the justified stand, and it was lit by human hands. That’s where we argue our denominations, where we argue our differences, split hairs: 55-1006A - "A Hidden Life"
This person’s revival can get smoked up, get cracked, run out of oil. This is not my revival.
Yet you’re eating manna, but you’re living under artificial light. That’s right. Sometimes the lights goes out. Sometimes your lamp gets smoked up, but to he who desires to hide away, walk into the next place, there’s no artificial light anywhere.
But down in between the arch of the wings of these Cherubim was a supernatural Light hanging in there, which was a Halo of God, that lit the whole room. And a man once entered into that Shekinah glory (Hallelujah!), that moves back there in the Presence of Almighty God.
The dimness of this world, any artificial organizations, and all man-made creeds has passed away, and he’s living in the Shekinah glory of Almighty God. 55-1006A - "A Hidden Life"
This is the revival for me.
I still need revival, because as long as we are in these fleshly bodies a battle is being fought.
Look at Joshua.
One day, in the heat of the battle, when the kings had made a great covenant among themself and had come down against Joshua and the children of Israel. That, God had promised them the land.
And he had routed the enemy, and they were in the woods and hills, scattered out through the wilderness there, and Joshua looked and he seen the sun going down. He knew if those armies got a chance to replace themselves and come back again at him, why, he know that he would have twice as hard a time and would probably lose more man, if they ever got a place to unite themselves together.
There is where, ministers, there is where we fail. There is where the church fails. When this revival that we’ve just had, this great campaigns that started across the country, when we had the enemy running, we should kept him on the run.
That’s the way it always goes. That’s the way it was in the days of Luther, Wesley, and Moody, Sankey, Finney, Knox, Calvin, all the way down. It’s been the same way. They get their eyes off of the revival, and get it onto what they can do for themselves.
But you know what happened? Joshua wasn’t that type of a man. The revival was almost at the end of the close of it, like we stand today. He knew if he ever waited till the enemy got fortified against him, it would be hard to win that battle. You know what he did? He knowed that God promised that land. He needed more time. So the sun was about to go down, then he said, “Sun, stand still.” 63-0801 - "A Paradox"
The cycle of revival and death had never failed but when Joshua said “sun stand still” it was over.
This is the revival for me. A prophet spoke in my day and said “the move is on for the Bride”. He said “This Bride would not fall”. There would bee churches and brides, but there has to come one.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
There must be a revival for me until death is put under my feet.
181 Now we’re ready, waiting for the raptures, the Rapture of the saints. It’s been spoken, and so shall it be. When God says anything, “All heavens and earth will pass away, but that Word will never fail.” 65-1204 - "The Rapture"
206 God bless you. It’s been spoken, it has to come to pass, it will come to pass. 65-1204 - "The Rapture"
Conclusion.
Conclusion.
(Welsh Revival)
I’m tired of making excuses, this is the revival for me. If not me, who? If not now, when?
The revival wasn’t in the house where Samson was, it was in him. He just had to die to himself. The denominational church cannot repent, but I can. Let me die to myself, and be the Bride’s revival.
