Scripture can be a little difficult to handle sometimes. It confronts us with ourselves, and it compels us to change. We are creatures that are not easily persuaded to abandon our ways and begin a new walk in life, even though it truly is what is best for us. Scripture is also difficult to swallow because it explains the reality of the eternal state for those who remain unchanged at the end of our lives. You see God has put eternity in man’s heart. Not some of us, not those who believe, but all. We know that there is something else out there, but it is difficult for some to grasp or believe. Yet the Bible is explicit as to what will happen to those who do not place their trust in Jesus Christ, and that is a hard reality to face.
I could go on, but in the end it will boil down to one thing. Make sure you are on the right side when your life is over.

Matthew 7:23 “And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’”
Now I pulled this one verse out of a passage because it is the most harrowing words a person could ever hear. The words mean that a person is being expelled from the presence of the Lord permanently. This means that
James 2:19 “You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!”
