Outline

Good morning, build rapport
This morning I want to take a little bit of time to help us see what we were created for.
Last Sunday we talked about Identity, Who You Are. We learned that we are both Ambassadors & Children of the King. Tonight I want to help you discover what you were created to do. When you are in Christ, we have a role to play.
What did you say that you were gonna be when you grew up? Mine was MLB or NFL. I'm not even in the same galaxy with my profession.
Ephesians 4:1–7 (ESV)
I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.
Walk in a manner worthy of the calling. Be a prisoner of the Lord like Paul, surrender your rights
In humility
With gentleness
With patience
In love towards others
Eager to build unity
There is one body - the church, one Spirit, which we all share, one baptism → Paul is showing how unified we are when we are in Jesus
Verse 7: But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift
We all have different gifts that God has given us
Some are good at singing - I am not
Some teaching
Some hospitality
Some cooking
Some leading
Some evangelizing
God has given each of us gifts as a measure of his grace
1 Corinthians 12:14-20 → we actually need people with different gifts and abilities.
What are you gifted in and how can you use it for God’s glory?
Let’s do a little exercise:
