Introduce Self

I’m excited for tonight and to hopefully increase your faith by sharing how God has been pouring out His Spirit here at Stony.

Did you know that we, as Christians, we believe strange things? They’re weird. We believe in virgin birth, even communion is eating bread and drinking juice to remember flesh and blood of God who was a man who died on earth but then rose again. This is kinda weird, right?

Have you ever heard of Balaam?

It’s the only story in the Bible where I can actively hear the voice of Eddie Murphy.

See this guy Balaam had a donkey that was not behaving him and going where he wanted him to go. Balaam, in his anger, beat his donkey 3 different times until finally God did something very unique.

Read Numbers 22:28–34 “Then the Lord gave the donkey the ability to speak. “What have I done to you that deserves your beating me three times?” it asked Balaam. “You have made me look like a fool!” Balaam shouted. “If I had a sword with me, I would kill you!” “But I am the same donkey you have ridden all your life,” the donkey answered. “Have I ever done anything like this before?” “No,” Balaam admitted. Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the roadway with a drawn sword in his hand. Balaam bowed his head and fell face down on the ground before him. “Why did you beat your donkey those three times?” the angel of the Lord demanded. “Look, I have come to block your way because you are stubbornly resisting me. Three times the donkey saw me and shied away; otherwise, I would certainly have killed you by now and spared the donkey.” Then Balaam confessed to the angel of the Lord, “I have sinned. I didn’t realize you were standing in the road to block my way. I will return…”

Hear me church: If God can open a donkeys mouth and speak through an animal, God can speak through you.

What Has God done at Stony?

Many dreams from men, women, and children.

Dreams will confirmed meanings, visions, and prophetic words given from God.

Miraculous Healings have taken place and many called into ministry.

Given words of knowledge that have been accurate, and given an overall impression that He is desiring a greater outpouring of His Spirit over the elders, staff, and every member of Stony.

However, rather than getting into details about the specific people who have heard from the Lord, I wanted to encourage you that any believer can be used by God for miraculous work. If Stony had a pet Donkey, God could even use that Donkey.

The Lord has even opened the mouth of a sinner like me, and if He can use me, He can use you.

1 Corinthians 14:1 “Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives—especially the ability to prophesy.”

The Holy Spirit is the one who gives dreams, visions, knowledge that we cannot otherwise know. Let us be filled again with His power tonight. That same power that raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, are you ready for more?

Are you ready for more?

In the old testament Joel prophesied how ALL Christians will have the Holy Spirit after Jesus ascended back into heaven.

Joel 2:28–29 ““Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions. In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants—men and women alike.”

Though every single believer has the Holy Spirit, we can experience a fresh filling of His Spirit tonight.

Ephesians 5:18 “Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,”
