The Creation of Satan

Colossians 1:16 “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.”
Job 38:4–7 ““Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements—surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”
Job 1:6 “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.”
Genesis 1:31 “And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.”

The Fall of Satan

Satan is a Hebrew word that means “adversary”. Scripture also refers to Satan as “the devil”, “the serpent”, “the great dragon”, “the prince of the power of the air”, “the god of this age”, “the evil one”, “the prince of demons”, “the accuser”, “the deceiver”, and “the tempter”.
See Revelation 12:3-4 and Revelation 12:7-10...
Luke 10:18 “And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.”
The Cause of the Fall (You shall be like God)
1 Timothy 3:6 “He must not be a recent convert, or he may become puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil.”
See Isaiah 14:12-15 and Ezekiel 28:11-19...

The Craftiness of Satan

2 Corinthians 2:11 “so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs.”
Ephesians 6:11 “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”
2 Corinthians 11:14–15 “And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.”
1 Peter 5:8–9 “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.”

The Temptation from Satan

Satan made them question the goodness of God and the truthfulness of His Word. He also tempted them with the power and authority that belongs to God alone. He makes the temptation look wonderful and appealing. He tempts you to forget the consequences of our sin.
Revelation 12:11 “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”
1 John 4:4 “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”
How can we be more aware of Satan’s schemes? Ask ourselves these questions: Does this draw me closer to the Lord, or push me further away? Does this temptation contradict the Word of God? We must remind ourselves of the consequences of our sin and the deceitfulness of temptation.
Matthew 4:4 “But he answered, “It is written, “ ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ””
Psalm 119:11 “I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
