What Makes something Viral?

Viral: “relating to or involving an image, video, piece of information, etc., that is circulated rapidly and widely from one internet user to another”
What Social Media do you have?
What do you Post?
What do you think you will do that will Go viral?

The Qualities that were found to make something go viral are these

High Quality
Pure
Stir Emotion
Unique
Relatable

Ironically, Jesus fulfills all of these!

Highest Moral Quality
1 John 3:5 “You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin.”
His message was pure
Matthew 22:37–40 “And He said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ “This is the great and foremost commandment. “The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ “On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.””
He stirred up emotion, both positively and negatively
Those who Followed Him and were healed loved Him, and those in power Hated him
He’s Unique, the one of a kind true son of God
John 3:16 ““For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
theres no one who is like Him, his perfection
He’s Relatable, He understands us completely
Hebrews 4:15 “For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.”
He’s lived as we have, been hungry, thirsty, and tempted, just like us, yet in all of it he never sinned
The Picture that the bible has painted of Jesus is vast, but we can focus on a few things, and the quality that made him most famous was his Humility
Humility: “the quality of being without pride, having a proper view of self”
The humility of Christ is our example for life.

1. The Call to Humility

(Philippians 2:3–4 ) “Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.”

2. The Example of Humility

(Philippians 2:5–8) “Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
it’s interesting how he was the example of Humility, he did it in these ways

a. Jesus was Intentionally Humble.

(Philippians 2:5–6) “Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,”
He chose to be like us!

a. Jesus was Extremely Humble.

(Philippians 2:7–8) “but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
He Chose to have no reputation
By being human
Philippians 2:7 “but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.”
He chose to be dependant
he chose to be lowly
he chose to get his hands dirty, and have back pain, like why
He Chose to be a servant
Philippians 2:7 “but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.”
John 13:1–17 “Now before the Feast of the Passover, Jesus knowing that His hour had come that He would depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end. During supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray Him, Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come forth from God and was going back to God, got up from supper, and laid aside His garments; and taking a towel, He girded Himself. Then He poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. So He came to Simon Peter. He said to Him, “Lord, do You wash my feet?” Jesus answered and said to him, “What I do you do not realize now, but you will understand hereafter.” Peter said to Him, “Never shall You wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, then wash …”
He was Extreme in that...
He Chose to Die on the Cross
Philippians 2:8 “Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
He wants a relationship with us!
Not that were already perfect, but because we’re his creation, and He loves us
John 3:16 ““For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
The humility of Christ is our example for life.
its not about me, its about what God can do, and if ill be humble and let him use me
The humility of Christ is our example for life.

How Can we Practically be Humble?

Listen when others speak
Apologize for your mistakes
Serve others
Humility: “the quality of being without pride, having a proper view of self”
“Consider Others as More Important than yourselves”
Will you choose to intentionally make at least one change in your life this week so you can follow the humble example of Jesus who humbled himself and saved you? If so, tell God right now how you will intentionally choose to be humble, and ask Him to give you the strength to be humble in that situation.
