Have You Ever Opened The Bible And Thought “Wouldn’t It Be Amazing “

Like you read a passage in the Bible and think, Man I would love to have been there?
We read about the early Church and think that it must have been amazing to See the movement of God in those times
Then we wonder why things are not like that today
Talking about the Church as a whole
today we are going to look at the birth of the Church and what made it amazing
Then we are going to look at how we can get closer to the way the early Church was
by looking at 3 mindsets that we need to have to get us there
first lets go to the Word
PRAY
Acts 2:42–47 NIV
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Many people today seem even in the Church seem to be devoted to
Comfort
happiness
their Goals
Their dreams
The question becomes does anyone really notice a difference in Christians vs the rest of the world?
Very few Christians helping each other
Christians claim to love God, but show no love for one another
Does the Church today seem more like the Church in Acts 2 or the World?
How do we fix this?
We Need to Change our mindset

We Will Be A Fully Devoted Church.

Acts 2:42 NIV
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
The Church in Acts was Devoted to furthering their faith.
How many people here are devoted to their family, their work, their hobbies
We need to be fully devoted to furthering our faith.
I have a friend that years ago had a failed marriage, was hopeless, ect. Story or R.
Started reading the Bible, started to devote himself to building his faith and learning
Know he works in a Church and has Joy and peace
Las week we talking about finding healing in the Lord, healing goes much farther then the physical. We Need to find healing in the spiritual.
Build our faith
Grow closer to God
We cannot do this alone
We need teaching, fellowship, and prayer

We Will Be A Generous Church

They sold their stuff to help those in need
Acts 2:45 NIV
They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.
Today is Benevolence Sunday, this was a welcome surprise
In the last 5 mo. alone we have been able to help over 10 people with psychical needs and many people before that that.
But what about in our own lives?
yes it is important to help those in need with money, but what about in other ways?
Moving, a ride, ect.
The early Church took care of those who needed it
Devoted Church
Generous Church

We Will Unapologetically Share the Love Of Jesus

Acts 2:47 NIV
praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
When I was not walking with God, a friend of mine invited me to Church, (Story of Shaun)
We need to be sharing the Gospel.
It is Not only my job but all of ours
Christ Did not say “Pastors and missionaries go out into the World but
Matthew 28:19 NIV
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
We Need to be sharing the Good news with others
We are doing a new community outreach with the movie nights
You want to help with this we need vol. you can also share it with others, you can also order this sweet shirt,
The profits go to help fund these nights and helps keep them free.
Communion
Luke 22:19–20 NIV
And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
