Do you remember moving into your neighborhood and wondering where the gas station or grocery store was? You might have spent time searching for its address online to put into your navigation system. If you’re the adventurous type, you walked or drove around exploring, discovering all of the interesting places available nearby. But once you know where these places are, you no longer have to spend that time pondering where they might be and being unsure if the next turn is right or left. You are free of that burden. That is how truth can set us free. Real, undeniable truth. Not truth that works in one context, but not another.
Knowing the truth about God from hearing or reading only sets you free when you believe what God says about Himself. That’s faith. Faith comes and grows from a relationship with Him, where you experience time and time again Him being true to His Word.
