Tonight, we will be reading
Read 1 Timothy 6:3-12
1 Timothy 6:2–12 (ESV)
Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful on the ground that they are brothers; rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their good service are believers and beloved.
Teach and urge these things. If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain. But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

False Teachers
False Teachers
Read 1 Timothy 6:3
If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness,
Pauls says that if any teacher teaches a different doctrine of the words of Jesus, they don’t fully understand the true Word of God. Because they are lost and they want to teach what they think and not what the Word of God says
he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.
he also mentions the qualitities (attituide) of false teachers in verses 4-5
how they can be conceited: they think that their way is the best
controversey: stiring up tea
dissension: having disagreements that leads to holding grudges
slander: ruining someones reputation by false statments
depraved in mind: thinking terribly evils things about someone
and lastly deprived: lacking important things such as the Gospel.
They think by doing these things they can gain godiness. we see that’s not how it works. its the opposite what Jesus wants us to do. And this is a big to Paul and it should be a big deal us too and to recognize false teachers. And That is why it’s so important for us to physically be gathering with the body of Christ.
True Contentment
True Contentment
Read 1 Timothy 6:6-8
But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.
Paul reminds Timothy about the true contentment that we should have in Chirst and not the things of this world, because the contentment that the world offers will fade away but Christ will never fade away.
Why should we be okay with having nothing?
Because Paul tells that we came with nothing and will leave with nothing.
Throughout my journey pursing Jesus it was hard because as a new believer I didn’t know what is really meant to be content with what I had. I always wanted more of what the world offered but as I continued to pursue Jesus, he taught me throughout His Word not to focus on the worries of this world because he will provide along the way. When you read throughout scriptures, He didn’t have as much. Christ was content what God the Father provided for Him.
Read Matthew 6:25-30
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Read 1 Timothy 6: 9-10
But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
and then he talks about how those who desire to be rich fall in great tempation because it leads them to be trapped, crazy, and harmful desires that will lead them to ruin and destruction. And the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.
Read Matthew 6:19-21
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
What kind of evil is he talking about here? It is that many people are over-indulging, greedy, and not being generous with their money.
When Paul speaks of those who want to be rich, he’s talking about those who pursue and prize riches as life’s priority. They become subject to temptation. When riches become all important, people succumb to foolish and harmful desires. They prioritize the material over the spiritual
notice that Paul didn’t say that money leads to evil, rather, the love of money leads to evil.
Fight the Good Fight of Faith
Fight the Good Fight of Faith
Read 1 Timothy 6:11-12
But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Paul tells Timothy to flee from all those things but to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. As belivers we should be pursing those things as well. these are the qualities that we should live for and desire to do. We should flee from sin and pursue godly virtue.
Read 2 Timothy 2:22
So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
A personal reflection how those things have work in my life and I challenge you to pursue righteousness
Before I was saved, I chased a life of sin. But now, I chase godliness and to honor the Lord with my actions.

Share the Gospel - 5 Fingers
I want to encouage you guys to be invovled in a discipleship group and to know the Word of God.
To my brothers and sisters in Chirst: Who are you investing in? Are you teaching them the sound doctrine the message of the Gospel? If you are not making disciples that makes disciples you are not fulling the Great Commission which says in Matthew 28: 19-20:
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
if you are not fulling the Great Commission you are sinning against God in what He has commanded every single beliver in Chirst to do.
