This morning we are going to learn that God is the Creator. God made Everything. And God made everything out of nothing. God didn’t make everything out of stuff that already existed. God spoke everything into existence.
Have you ever made anything? Have you built stuff with legos? What have you built with legos?
God made everything out of nothing! No one but God can make things out of nothing. Let’s read what God did.
Day One: Light and Dark.
Day One: Light and Dark.
Genesis 1:1-2:3.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
This means that God made light. We can see everything because God spoke and light jumped into existence at His command.

Day Two: The Sky.
Day Two: The Sky.
On day two, God made the sky. The Bible says,
6 And God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.”
God made the sky. God spoke and the sky jumped into existence at His command.

Day Three: The Land and Plants.
Day Three: The Land and Plants.
On day three, God made the land and the plants. He spoke and the land came into existence. He said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so.” He named the land “earth” and the God said it was good.
Then God made the plants. He said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so… And God saw that it was good.
God made all the land and even the plants. God spoke and the dirt and rocks sprang into existence. God spoke and the plants and flowers and trees and seeds all sprang into being just because He said so.

Day Four: The Sun, Moon, And Stars.
Day Four: The Sun, Moon, And Stars.
On the fourth day, God made the Sun, Moon, and Stars.
14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. 16 And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. 17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.
God spoke and our sun lit into being. He spoke and the moon formed out of nothing but the power of His voice. He commanded and every planet in the sky jumped into being.

Day Five: The Sea Creatures and Birds.
Day Five: The Sea Creatures and Birds.
On the fifth day, God created the sea creatures and birds.
20 And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.”… And God saw that it was good… and there was morning, the fifth day.
God spoke and the whales, and sharks, and fish, and even the great sea serpents sprang into being, just at the sound of His voice. The birds sprang into being and then spread their wings in flight just because God said so.

Day Six: The Beasts of the Land and Man.
Day Six: The Beasts of the Land and Man.
On day six, God made the beasts of the Land.
24 And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. 25 And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
God spoke and all the animals, from the smallest insect to the biggest dinosaur instantly came into being. But there was one thing left to create.
God spoke and all the animals, from the smallest insect to the biggest dinosaur instantly came into being. But there was one thing left to create.
But God also made something else on the sixth day. Does anyone know what it was? God made man.
The Creation of Man.
The Creation of Man.
26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.
When God made man, it was very important. Man is the only thing that God made in His image. This means that humans are unique. They are special. They bear the image of God. This means that we are not just animals. We were made for a special reason. God gave humans the responsibility over all creation. Adam and Eve were supposed to tend the garden. They were given something called dominion. This means they had authority over the animals and the rest of creation.
Take dominion over all creation.
Take dominion over all creation.
This means that mankind is to take responsibility. We are to rule well and honor God in doing so.
Day Seven: God Rests.
Day Seven: God Rests.
But God did something on the seventh day. Do you know what it was? On the seventh day, God rested.
Argumentation:
Argumentation:
God is the one who made everything. He is so powerful that He made everything out of nothing. He spoke and all creation came into being. God made the entire universe in six days. This means that everything is God’s. He is the one who made it. He is the ruler. So let’s pray, and praise God for making everything.
