Script

Good morning! I have the honor of leading Communion this morning.
The remembrance of Jesus’ death on the Cross is something that followers of Jesus have been doing for
nearly 2,000 years and it’s a way for us to reflect on the love and forgiveness of God.
Jesus died on the Cross so that we could be reconciled and redeemed, freed from the bondage of sin and death and brokenness.
--------------------------------------------------
Here at Life Church, we invite all who follow Jesus to come to the Lord’s Table to receive the Bread and the Cup.
If you are new to our church and maybe even new to learning about Jesus and yet you have a desire to experience the grace of God and recognize the value of Jesus’ death on the Cross, we invite you to participate with us!
We at Life church like to commune as friends and family with the Lord. So take the bread and dip it into the juice and then return to your chairs, there as family and friends you may receive the Lord’s table together.
------------------------------------------------------

Let’s read what the Lord has done for us.

2 Corinthians 5:13–21 NASB95
For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you. For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf. Therefore from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

BREAK BREAD

As we break the Bread, let us give thanks for the death of Jesus and receive God’s grace and reconciliation.
As we dip the bread in the Cup, we thank God for the new covenant of grace and mercy that is found in the blood of Jesus.

LET US PRAY!

Holy Spirit as we approach the Table of the Lord, may Christ and His work be manifested to us.
As we take the bread and juice manifest the reconciling power of the cross, clean our conscience of guilt and shame, and fill us with the wonder of recieving this meal from our Lord.
In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.

APPROACH

You may now approach the table of the Lord to receive from Him.
