Defined as criticism for a fault : rebuke

9.     Declared to be

a.     Better than secret love. Pr 27:5.

Better is open rebuke Than love that is concealed.

b.     Better than the praise of fools. Ec 7:5.

It is better to listen to the rebuke of a wise man

Than for one to listen to the song of fools.

10.     A proof of faithful friendship. Pr 27:6. Faithful are the wounds of a friend,

But deceitful are the kisses of an enemy.

11.     Leads to

a.     Understanding. Pr 15:32. 32     

He who neglects discipline despises himself,

But he who listens to reproof acquires understanding.

b.     Knowledge. Pr 19:25.

25     Strike a scoffer and the naive may become shrewd,

But reprove one who has understanding and he will gain knowledge.

c.     Wisdom. Pr 15:31; 29:15.

d.     Honour. Pr 13:18.

e.     Happiness. Pr 6:23.
