Exalting Christ

OVERFLOWING GRACE GOD’S LOVING FAVOR IN MY INADEQUACY RESULTING IN OVERFLOWING BENEFITS. JOHN 1:1-5 AS GOD AND CREATOR, HOPE IS FOUND IN JESUS. JOHN 1:6-18 JESUS IS THE SOURCE OF GRACE AND TRUTH, AND MAN MUST CHOOSE IF HE WILL BELIEVE IN THIS JESUS. JOHN 1:19-2:11 THE REALITY OF JESUS (AS REVEALED BY THE MANY WITNESSES) SHOULD LEAD YOU TO BELIEF. JOHN 2:12-25 MAN MUST BE WILLING TO ACCEPT WHAT IS TRUE ABOUT JESUS. JOHN 3:1-21 BELIEVE IN JESUS BECAUSE THE CONSEQUENCES HAVE ETERNAL IMPACT! Exalting Christ JOHN 3:22-36 EXALTING CHRIST 1. The messenger of salvation must remember that it is all about Christ. 26-30 2. Jesus deserves to be exalted. 31-36 JESUS DESERVES TO BE EXALTED. 31-36 A. Jesus is from heaven and superior over all. 31 B. Jesus received His message firsthand even though it was rejected. 32 C. Jesus’ accepted message is determined to be true. 33 D. Jesus’ access to the work of the Holy Spirit is without limit. 34 E. Jesus is sovereign. 35 EXALTING CHRIST 1. The messenger of salvation must remember that it is all about Christ. 26-30 2. Jesus deserves to be exalted. 31-36 3. Believing the message of Jesus removes you from the judgment of God to enjoy eternal life. 36 EXALT JESUS THAT OTHERS MAY BELIEVE HE IS TRUTH. APPLICATION 1. Churches and ministries must not be built around a personality but around the truth of Jesus Christ. 2. Humility is needed to be a faithful messenger of Christ—I must get out of the way that others may see Christ. APPLICATION 3. Understanding the source of the message and the content of the message should result in me exalting Christ above all. 4. Until I believe, I remain under God’s judgement. Will you believe? EXALT JESUS THAT OTHERS MAY BELIEVE HE IS TRUTH.
