Galatians 6:14
Paul could have glorified the virgin birth because it is the most supernatural act.
He could have glorified the lame walking, the deaf hearing and the eyesight given to the blind.
He could have glorified in that Jesus was the best teacher of all time.
He could have glorified in the resurrection of Christ because the Bible says He rose on the third day.
Why didn’t he glory in the coming again of Christ?
But he said he glorified in one thing: the death, the agony, the suffering when Jesus died on the cross of Calvary.
Why glory on the execution of a Man on a cross?
Why glory in the shedding of blood on a cross?
When it comes to the Bible, the cross of Jesus Christ is central to the Old and New Testament.
You must understand the very heart of this Book is the cross of Jesus Christ, from Genesis to Revelation.
What does the cross teach us?
It is an expression of human iniquity.
In Matthew and Mark, 1/3 of these gospels are given to the death of Christ, a quarter of Luke and half of John is given to the death of Jesus Christ.
Every time we take the Lord’s Supper, Communion, we are remembering Jesus Christ’s death.
The wine represents the blood of Jesus that was shed on Calvary.
The bread is for the body that was mutilated--His flesh for our sins on the cross.
It is our sins that nailed Him there.
Crucifixion was not only a horrible death--it was a shameful death.
When we break the law of the Ten Commandments we sin.
When we don’t abide by or live up to the Sermon on the Mount we sin.
When we don’t love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength we sin.
When we don’t love our neighbors as ourselves we sin.
Everyone of us are sinners.
We are doomed because sin separates us from God.
The wages of sin is death.
Jesus said He would take our place.
He lived a perfect life and therefore He is the mediator so we can stand before a perfect God.
He has reconciled us to Himself.
True repentance is emptying yourself—to turn from your own selfishness.
Have you given your heart to Jesus?
Have you asked Him to forgive you and wash your sins under the blood.
Come to give your heart to Jesus Christ today so you can stand before a just and holy Judge in righteousness.
