Introduction

I want to take the next 7 minutes to encourage you by pulling a few truths from Acts 1:8, the verse we use as our foundation for missions, mission giving, and our personal call to obedience to be witnesses for Christ.
So, I will be identifying three truths and I will follow each truth with an encouragement for you.
Acts 1:8 ESV
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

The power of the church comes from the Holy Spirit, not from man.

“The ministry of the Spirit is not a luxury, it is a necessity.” - Warren Wiersbe

The call to be a witness is a call for us all.

Not opinions or ideas, but what we know.

Our ministry begins here before we go there.

“The light that shines the furthest is the light that shines brightest at home.” - Dr. Oswald J. Smith
