And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”
When I was around the age of 14, I found myself having to use the restroom back to back. Every time I would take a sip of water I would have to rush off to use it again. Well, I went home to mom and told her that I thought something was wrong with my kidneys.
Mom quickly made a doctor’s appointment for me, and within a few days I found myself sitting in my Primary Care doctor’s office.
After several test, the doctor entered the room with some gloom news. It was not my kidneys, instead I was a diabetic. The doctor said that my glucose sugar levels were so high that they wouldn’t register. He suggested that I go to Mercy Hospital asap!
Before heading to the hospital, I rushed home to tell mom the bad news that my doctor had delivered. Well, mom informed me that this was all that was about to happen. She said, “Baby, they’re just going to take you in surgery, cut you open, and remove all the sugar from your body.”
To me, at 14 years old, mom’s news was even worse than the doctors! However, mom had no idea what she was talking about, and for the life of me, I don’t know where she came up with those thoughts. Now, 43 years later, I wish what mom had told me was right, but it’s not. Likewise, I have one question that I’d like to ask mom, and everyone here today. “Who Told You That?”
Turn with me to Genesis chapter 3, and we’re just going to read one verse. Verse 11 states;
Genesis 3:11 “And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?””
Many of us, whether believers or unbelievers, have heard the story of Adam & Eve, but even in what we know, we have missed the mark on what the Bible says concerning creation and the fall of mankind.
