Have you ever asked the question Lord who am I that you would save me?
Who AM I that you would bless me so?
Who Am I that you would consider me to a part of your family?
Like David when we think of how God has blessed us and the promises he gave us we too should ask the question who Am I?
We should have awestruck humility, soul solemnity, and bold faith.
David wanted to build the Lord a house. Instead the Lords makes him a promise.
8“Now then, tell my servant David, ‘This is what the LORD Almighty says: I took you from the pasture and from following the flock to be ruler over my people Israel. 9I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men of the earth. 10And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning 11and have done ever since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also give you rest from all your enemies.
“ ‘The LORD declares to you that the LORD himself will establish a house for you:
This established the often quoted promise concerning the line of David
Jeremiah 15 In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch to spring up for David, and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. 16 In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell securely. And this is the name by which it will be called: ‘The LORD is our righteousness.’
17 “For thus says the LORD: David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel, 18 and the Levitical priests shall never lack a man in my presence to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings, and to make sacrifices forever.” (Je 33:15–18).
The Lord’s words recorded here arguably play the single most significant role of any Scripture found in the Old Testament in shaping the Christian understanding of Jesus.
The divine declarations proclaimed here through the prophet Nathan are foundational for seven major New Testament teachings about
Jesus: that he is
(1) the son of David (cf. Matt 1:1; Acts 13:22–23; Rom 1:3; 2 Tim 2:8; Rev 22:16, etc.);
(2) one who would rise from the dead (cf. Acts 2:30; 13:23);
(3) the builder of the house for God (cf. John 2:19–22; Heb 3:3–4, etc.); (4) the possessor of a throne (cf. Heb 1:8; Rev 3:21, etc.);
(5) the possessor of an eternal kingdom (cf. 1 Cor 15:24–25; Eph 5:5; Heb 1:8; 2 Pet 1:11, etc.);
(6) the son of God (cf. Mark 1:1; John 20:31; Acts 9:20; Heb 4:14; Rev 2:18, etc.); and
(7) the product of an immaculate conception, since he had God as his father (cf. Luke 1:32–35).
So David goes before the Lord with sincere gratitude and ask the question WHO AM I?
1 David had Awestruck Humility
Are you in awe of The Lords mercy ? Its in 1 Chronicles we see the full appreciation 17 And this was a small thing in your eyes, O God. You have also spoken of your servant’s house for a great while to come, and have shown me future generations, O LORD God! 18 And what more can David say to you for honoring your servant? For you know your servant. 19 For your servant’s sake, O LORD, and according to your own heart, you have done all this greatness, in making known all these great things. 20 There is none like you, O LORD, and there is no God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears. (1 Ch 17:17–20).
Have you considered where the Lord has brought you from? Many of us can say the Lord taken me from meager humble beginnings to where you are now. Even has people of color the Lord has taken us from cotton fields to board rooms.
Soul Solemnity,
The definition of solemnity is to be serious about something. Webster said: marked by the invocation of a religious sanction. a solemn oath. 2. : marked by the observance of established form or ceremony.
When we consider where the Lord has brought us from. What he has forgiven us for. What he has protected us from. All that the Lord has done we need to be reflective and get serious about our worship.
How many got tired of playing church a long time ago? My worship is serious for me. I don’t want no distractions. I want sincere worship and that’s what the Lord requires. He requires that we worship him in spirit and in truth.
and bold faith.
You must know that the Lord will do it! Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God! David believed God. He knew God knew him.
Its in Psalm 139:1
1  O LORD, you have searched me and known me!
2  You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
3  You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways.
4  Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O LORD, you know it altogether
(Ps 139:1–4).
25  For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised,
and he is to be feared above all gods.
26  For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols,
but the LORD made the heavens.
27  Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and joy are in his place. (1 Ch 16:25–27).

11  “Who is like you, O LORD, among the gods?

Who is like you, majestic in holiness,

awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?

he is a wonder in my soul!
18 Then King David went in and sat before the LORD and said, “Who am I, O Lord GOD, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far? 19 And yet this was a small thing in your eyes, O Lord GOD. You have spoken also of your servant’s house for a great while to come, and this is instruction for mankind, O Lord GOD! 20 And what more can David say to you? For you know your servant, O Lord GOD! 21 Because of your promise, and according to your own heart, you have brought about all this greatness, to make your servant know it. 22 Therefore you are great, O LORD God. For there is none like you, and there is no God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears. 23 And who is like your people Israel, the one nation on earth whom God went to redeem to be his people, making himself a name and doing for them great and awesome things by driving out before your people, whom you redeemed for yourself from Egypt, a nation and its gods? 24 And you established for yourself your people Israel to be your people forever. And you, O LORD, became their God. 25 And now, O LORD God, confirm forever the word that you have spoken concerning your servant and concerning his house, and do as you have spoken. 26 And your name will be magnified forever, saying, ‘The LORD of hosts is God over Israel,’ and the house of your servant David will be established before you. 27 For you, O LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have made this revelation to your servant, saying, ‘I will build you a house.’ Therefore your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you. 28 And now, O Lord GOD, you are God, and your words are true, and you have promised this good thing to your servant. 29 Now therefore may it please you to bless the house of your servant, so that it may continue forever before you. For you, O Lord GOD, have spoken, and with your blessing shall the house of your servant be blessed forever.”
