Our message today mostly comes from the book of Ephesians 6:10–20

Let us pray.

Tragedies, do all things that happen in life that are bad called tragedies? There are some things that are just a pain aren’t they? Satan gets to us, at least in my life with little bitty things. A phone call I was supposed to receive, a package didn’t show up from UPS, a loved one spoke a little harsh to me or maybe I spoke a little to harsh to someone.

I. The Believer’s Power, yours and my power. (v. 10).

In today’s world we have a #, a place that we go to and dial, cell phone, home phone, text.........its 911. Any emergency, any crisis, any unexpected tragedy or injury, its in our heart, our brain isn’t it?

We even have an 811 number, why do you think we have an 811 #, call before you dig! I believe that there were many tragedies, injuries, fatalities before the 811# was created, so what now?

I have a number for this scripture, P 2007.....This is in my Bible.I believe we memorize a page # or an emergency# a little easier than a book of the Bible name, chapter, verses don’t we?

When we create your page # in your ESV pew Bible or your home Bible, things are not going so great, family issues, loss of a loved one? , Issue, problem, Satan’s lurking, prowling as the Bible says, P 1163 if Vickie told me correctly here in church, Open Book, turn to page 1163

AMEN!

OK, so now we know where to begin in the process of fighting Satan, we know what to begin reading, hopefully you all will know this scripture very soon or at least where to find it.

LISTEN CHURCH, EVERYDAY IN EVERY FAMILY, IN EVERY CHURCH, AT EVERY JOB, IN MOST EVERY RELATIONSHIP THERE IS GOING TO BE PROBLEMS, MONEY, RESTLESS NIGHTS, SICKNESS, FLAT TIRES, SMART MOUTH COMMENTS, LIES, CHEATING, ADULTERY, DEPRESSION, GRIEVING, HARD HEARTS....ON AND ON RIGHT?

We have been blessed with a helper, The Holy Spirit and The Apostle Paul tells us in his letter to the church in Ephesus, hey pay attention, This will assist you in your battle here on earth with Satan. Do this, prepare this way and you will overcome!

The Lords Power, The power we have been given as believer's of Jesus Christ.

II. The Believer’s Foe (vv. 11, 12).

Ephesians 6:11–12 “11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”

A. Not physical—“not against flesh and blood.”

B. But spiritual—“but against”:

1. “Principalities.”

2. “Powers.”

3. “Rulers of the darkness.”

4. “Spiritual wickedness.”

III. The Believer’s Armor, we have been given a source, (vv. 13–17).

Ephesians 6:13–17 “13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

A. “Stand … having your loins girt about with truth.”

B. “Stand … having on the breastplate of righteousness.”

C. “Stand … your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.”

D. “Stand … above all taking the shield of faith.”

E. “Stand … and take the helmet of salvation.”

F. “Stand … and take … the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.”

IV. The Believer’s Resource (vv. 18–20).

Ephesians 6:18–20 “18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. 19 And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike. 20 I am in chains now, still preaching this message as God’s ambassador. So pray that I will keep on speaking boldly for him, as I should.

So again, we just read and are reminded of our resources didn’t we? So are we using them?

A. Prayer (v. 18).

B. Perseverance (v. 18).

C. Petition (vv. 19, 20).

AMEN
