Matthew 4:4 (NKJV) 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’
Word- Rhema spoken Word
Proceed- leaves His mouth , comes from Him
What Are You Living On- What Sustains You
Bread Alone- Living only at the natural level- Living only at a natural way of thinking Living only at a natural way-
Isaiah 55:2 (NKJV) 2 Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
Gods Word Leads to Your Soul Delighting & Abundance
Ps.1:1-3 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.
Gods Word Heard Gives Faith
Romans 10:17 (NKJV) 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Faith- the ability to believe god for something that doesnt yet exist. To believe in or for something you cant see.
Hearing- the ability/faculty to hear the information, news, report. To have heard the message.
No Hearing The Word- No Faith
Zoning God Out- Illustration- Had my hearing tested and found out I have excellent hearing. It shocked Peka because she thought the reason I didnt hear/listen was I had issues with my hearing.
I had developed the skill of zoning out my wifes voice. I had forgotten the importance of listening to what my wife thinks is important.
Romans 10:17 TPT. Faith, then, is birthed in a heart that responds to God’s anointed utterance of the Anointed One.
The Word-The Truth- Sets Free
John 8:31–32 (NKJV) 31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Abide- Stay, dwell, remain, hold on to
John 8:31–32 (NIV) 31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Hearing Truth Begins The Process of Freedom-
No Hearing- No Freedom
