Mark 12:41-44 TRUST GOD WITH WHAT YOU HAVE

Generosity is not about how much you have. It’s about trusting God with what you do have!

2 Corinthians 5:7 sharply summarizes this adventure of faith; we walk by faith, not by sight.

Job 13:15, Though he slay me yet will I trust in him

Psalm 34:8, O taste and see that the Lord is good blessed is the one who trusts in him

Psalm 62:8, O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.

1 Timothy 6:17, Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.

Jeremiah 17:7, blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord...

Isaiah 26:3, you will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on him because he trusts in you.

Proverbs 3:5-6, trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your path.

The exhortation is simple: Trust God With What You Have; though the burden is heavy, the climb is steep, the cross is difficult, the night is dark, and the storm is raging; trust God.

Trust God with, in, thru, and for everything; and when you do, it will lead you to live in ABUNDANCE.

This story of Mark 12:41-44 rounds off a major section in Mark’s gospel (beginning in ch. 11) about Jesus’ visit to the temple in Jerusalem upon His triumphant entry. The first scene in the section is the temple cleansing (Mark 11:15-19, turning over the tables and chairs of money-changers and pigeon-sellers/rebuking them), second scene (Mark 11:27-33) is his interaction with the chief priests, the scribes and the elders about His authority, the third scene (Mark 12:13-17), some Pharisees and the Herodians question Jesus about whether to pay taxes, and the final scene is observing this poor widow make her contribution to God.
