Matthew 5:14–16 ““You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Jesus is described as “The true light.”

John 1:9 “The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.”

John 9:5 “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.””

John 8:12 “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.””

But because Jesus is the true light, the source, He charged you to be the continuation of the light

Consider The Moon..Its a reflection of The Sun the source of light for the Earth, the moon simply reflects the light of the Sun and like the Moon, we are to be the reflection of the true light, Jesus!

1 Thessalonians 5:5 “For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.”

God has made YOU to impact the world!

He tells us in verse 14 that we are the light of the world!

Take Your Light Into The World

Matthew 5:14 ““You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Ephesians 5:8–14 “for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.””

2. Be The Light In Your Circle

3. “Talk the talk” and “Walk the walk”

Because you will lead souls to the foot of the cross and they will give thanks for you to God in Heaven

Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

4. Shine Together

The Church Is The “City on the hill”

When we come together as Christians we should shine in a dark world like a “city on a hill”
