Hallelujah!! [Joyful praise… ]
Isn’t there nothing better than witnessing that!?
My name is Tim, and I serve as a pastoral resident here.
We are SO glad you have joined us today for worship! If you’re visiting with us this weekend, you chose the RIGHT weekend to come—to see and hear for yourself what God is doing and can do for you!
We’d love to meet you after the service; so please stop by our welcome desk!
Well, church family,
There are 3 Things I want to Remind you about:
1) Our own Barrington Fall Devotional, called “Our Confession” -- is now available!
This 4-week devotional is meant to stir up your heart for the glorious truths we believe,
And spur you on in your personal ministry.
Its available via QR code at the Welcome Desk.
The next 2 things I’m particularly excited about—as I have the privilege of helping lead this ministry.
The young adult years—from college to the early 30s--can be isolating, overwhelming, and full of big questions about life and identity.
Here at The Orchard we seek to provide rich opportunities for friendship and fellowship among young adults centered upon Christ.
The second Friday of each month—this Friday the 13th—we have our Young Adult Gathering:
- This is an All-Orchard-campus event with worship, panels, discussion, snacks and more!
If you’re a young adult, or know someone who is, who might benefit from a community of Christ-loving young people
spread the word!
On a similar note, the last Sunday of each month, we have a Barrington Young Adult Lunch
- We gather together after the 10:45 service, around 12:15.
- This month, the 29th, the church will be providing Mediterranean food!
- We’ll eat here, then go on a prayer walk through the neighborhood to commit our city to the Lord, in light of Halloween approaching.
Well let’s turn now to the Lord in prayer together. I’m using Isa. 44 to guide my prayer.
Our Fountain of Living Waters,
You SAY to us:
“Fear not, O Jacob my servant,
Jeshurun whom I have chosen.
For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground!”
PRAISE: (Scrip, baptism, 9 souls)
Father...
GLOBAL:
Father,
We hate war — and grieve the unending conflict between Israel and Palestine, now aggravated yet again by a new war declared this morning, already hundreds of lives taken.
Pour out the Spirit of justice and peace upon this ancient land, on all governing leaders globally,
and bring the unity only you can bring through the blood of Jesus.
MORNING Anointing:
… We pray all this by the Spirit of Christ, and in His holy name,
And all Godˋs ppl said, Amen.
As we continue in worship, we encourage you to fill out the connection card, and do your online giving, remembering the lavish generosity of our Savior!
