GOD’S WORK IN YOU.

INTRODUCTION:

SALVATION IS THE WORK OF GOD THROUGH HIS GRACE.

WE ONLY RECEIVE IT ONCE WE BELIEVE IN SON JESUS CHRIST.

IT TAKES OUR SUBMISSION TO GOD IN ORDER FOR GOD’S WORK TO WORK THROUGH US.

THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE ACCOMPLISH, IS BY ALLOWING THE HOLY SPIRIT TO HAVE CONTROL OF OUR LIVES.

I LIKE TO SHARE 3 THINGS WITH YOU CONCERNING GOD’S WORK.

A. WORK OUT WHAT GOD PUT IN YOU?

Philippians 2:12 “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

THE WORD WORK MEANS TO CARRY OUT TO IT’S FULL PERFECTION.

WHAT WE ARE REQUIRED TO DO IS TO COMPLETE GOD’S PLAN THAT HE HAS FOR OUR LIVES. GOD’S WORK CANNOT BE COMPLETE UNLESS WE DO SOME WORK ON OURSELVES.

HOW WE DO THIS, IS BY GETTING OUT OF GOD’S WAY AND ALLOW HIM TO DO THE LEADING. AND THAT’S THROUGH HIS WORD.

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WORKING FOR YOUR SALVATION. THIS HAVE EVERYTHING TO DO WITH GOD’S GRACE AND MERCY.

IF WE ALLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT TO WORK IN US , IT WILL BECOME EASIER TO SUBMIT TO GOD.

THEN THERE IS A REFERENCE WE NEED TO HAVE FOR GOD.

WHEN WE TRULY HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD OUR CONSCIENCE WON’T ALLOW US TO DO THINGS THAT WILL HINDER GOD’S WORK IN US. WE WILL NO LONGER HAVE TROUBLE FIGHTING AGAINST TEMPTATION, BECAUSE GOD WILL KEEP US HUMBLE TO THE FACT THAT WE WHERE SAVED BY GRACE.

Ephesians 2:8–9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.”

B. GOD’S WORK IN YOU.

Philippians 2:13 “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”

WHAT IS IT THAT GOD WORKETH IN US?

HIS WILL. GOD WILL EITHER WORK IN US OR WORK ON US.

IT IS UP TO YOU RATHER GOD WILL WORK THROUGH YOU, OR CORRECT YOU.

IT IS GOD THROUGH THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT THAT WILL EMPOWER US OR GIVE US THE DESIRE TO LIVE FOR HIM.

THE WORD WORKETH MEANS TO ENERGIZE OR PROVIDE ENABLEMENT.

THE MORE INTIMATE WE BECOME WITH THE LORD THE MORE LORDSHIP HE WILL HAVE OVER OUR LIVES.

WHEN GOD’S WORK HAVE FREE COURSE IN OUR LIVES, IT WILL BRING PLEASURE TO HIMSELF, BECAUSE HIS LIFE IS BEING ON DISPLAY.

IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU, BUT ABOUT HIM.

WHEN GOD’S WORK IS ACTUALLY WORKING IN YOU, YOU DO NOT ENTERTAIN THE SPIRIT OF COMPLAINING OR FIND YOURSELF ARGUING OR FIGHTING WITH OTHER’S WHO ARE SPIRITUALLY IMMATURE.

THAT’S WHY GOD WILL EITHER WORK IN US OR WORK ON US.

2 Corinthians 3:5 “not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

IT IS GOD WHO COMPLETE US.

Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”

C. BE LIGHTS

Philippians 2:15 “that ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;”

TO BE GOD’S LIGHTS IN THE WORLD, WE MUST BE INNOCENT OF SINFUL BEHAVIOR.

WE CANNOT LIVE WITH GUILT, BECAUSE THAT WILL HINDER GOD’S PROGRESSION, AND WON’T ALLOW US TO MOVE FORWARD IN THE POWER OF GOD.

TO BE GOD’S LIGHTS YOU CANNOT BE IN EVERYBODY ELSE BUSINESS, BECAUSE THIS WON’T GIVE GOD THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK ON YOUR IMPERFECTIONS OR YOU TO WORK ON YOURSELF.

Ephesians 5:8 “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:”
