Romans 12:1–2 KJV 1900
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Need of Mercy

God's observation of our sinful and needful state

Romans 5:10 -> we were once enemies with God - Contrary to Him...
Romans 5:10 (KJV 1900)
10 For if, when we were enemies…
How did we get to that point? - Sin,
Why does sin Cause seperation
God is holy
God's thoughts of sin.
Psalm 5:4–5 KJV 1900
4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: Neither shall evil dwell with thee. 5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: Thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

V.4 - wicked, v.5 - the fool (there is no dGod)...iniquity.

Sin is naturally within us

James 1:14–15 KJV 1900
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Sin takes us to its eat = death

Expression of Mercy

God's expressed response to our need
Jesus Response of mercy after seeing all the needy in need of the gospel
Compassion = mercy in action.
Matthew 9:36 KJV 1900
36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Mercy = compassion or forbearance shown especially to an offender or to one subject to one's power
Compassion = sympathetic consciousness of others' distress together with a desire to alleviate it
God's response God showed us Mercy & Grace
Romans 5:6 - when we had no hope, hope came to us.
Romans5:7-8 The remarkable nature of-the response.
Romans 5:6–8 KJV 1900
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
“At the heart of mercy is the love of God”
Ephesians 2:4–5 KJV 1900
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Reception of Mercy

The reception of God's mercy - receiving Christ as Savior.
Come in humility to God.
Accept Christ as Savior
1 John 4:10 KJV 1900
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
We must live in humilty to God in the Lord.
To do this, we must humble ourselves and return to the moment we first came to realize the mercy of the most high God.
Returning to the first love… like ephasus
Getting out of the mundain rythmn and simply dedicate ourselves to God
To the church at laodicea Christ said this
Revelation 3:19–20 KJV 1900
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

What is your response to the mercy of God?
