The Invaluable Talent Do Not Bury It
 Invaluable-extremely useful; indispensable
 Introduction
The Master gave to these three Men certain Talents, and he expected to receive something back from them and his investment When he returned from his journey How OR why he chose to give five Talents to one man and two Talents to another man and Just one Talent to another man is not explained. could it be that he saw a certain amount of zeal or love he received from each of the men? He may have identified the abilities of each Man.
In this parable, the talents spoken of are a form of Money that can be traded for goods or invested for profit. But we see That our Lord and Savior our Master has given every Man US a gift to start our walk with God, which is the gift of Faith.
  Rom 12:3
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
The Word of God also says
 Hebrews 11:6
“6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
So, Faith is a requirement of living for God. Isn’t Great and awesome that God would grant to us freely the requirement it takes to Live for Him?
But just like the Talents the Master lent to his servants what we do with it is up to us.
Are we going to bury it like the unwise servant just let it sit in the ground and profit nothing?
Or are we going to use it to the best of our abilities?
If we use it and we do not double like the others at least we will profit a little, we can look at the Lord with all honestness and say we gave it our best
Point 1. Today I want to talk to you about the invaluable talent the one Talent that was given to the servant but was not valued or used. This Talent was given by the Lord and master of the servant. Undoubtedly this servant felt like this was a huge responsibility and was overwhelmed by it. The master expects me to do something with it.
Point 2. Tonight, I want to call this Talent Faith. I believe Faith is the most important Talent in this world. Utilized and with proper investment of time it can grow and change anything we can imagine in Faith. Peter was in jail waiting for the executioner to come and take his Head and he was chained between two Guards inside the inner prison. With two gates locked the Prayer of his friends sent an Angel of God to release Peter from his bonds and we read that the ones that were Praying were shocked and amazed at what their Prayer had done.
You may ask how you grow in Faith. How do you invest in Faith? How does Faith compound interest?
Every Man is given this gift of Faith and according to the word of God in
Hebrews 11:1–2
“1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2. For by it the elders obtained a good report
Remember
Hebrews 11:6
“6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that
he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Point 3. Faith is believing; to come to God, we must first believe in God. The Gospel is the Death Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Who is God with us?
When we decide to believe in God a measure of Faith is imparted to us. It is a seed planted in the freshly turned soil of our Heart ready to take root and begin to Grow. Watering the faith with the Gospel is a Must.
Paul wrote in Romans-So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
 and in
1st Corinthians 3
-I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.”
Paul and Apollos preached the word of God, and the word of God watered the seed of Faith, and it took root and brought forth fruit. God multiplied the Faith. Like an Apple seed planted it brings forth an abundance of Apples when the tree has grown. So must we multiply our Faith.
The Apostle Peter has given a clear and concise formula to not only secure our walk with God but also make sure we never backslide and fall away from the Faith we have.
2 Peter 1:2–10
“2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But he that lacketh these things are blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins
· The Lord has given us all things that pertain unto Life.
· Godliness comes through knowledge of Him the Lord.
To be partakers of His divine nature we must escape the corruption of the world that corrupts us through its lust.
 James 1:12–14
“12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.”
Point 4. So now we get to hear Peter’s formula of Living for our God without falling. And being able to live for God without fear or condemnation. Paul said he had a clean conscience before God we should also.
· And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue;
Virtue Integrity or a quality that attracts people to Jesus. It is a necessary ingredient of Faith. It is also a meaning of Power. Or powerful. Jesus said in
 Acts 1:8
· “8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
So, we receive Faith when we Believe and Power is given when we are filled with the Spirit of God thus we receive Virtue. at the time of Salvation
· And to virtue knowledge The Bible is full of references to Knowledge- we must know right and wrong. To distinguish the left hand from the right hand.
 Hosea 4:6
“6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: Because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: Seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
God is not pleased when we neglect His word and do not Grow in our Faith
Proverbs 1:7“7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: But fools despise wisdom and instruction.” How much of the pain that we go through can be avoided if we would just seek out Knowledge beforehand?
 Proverbs 18:15
“15 The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; And the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.”
 2 Peter 3:18
“18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.
So, the Talent I want to speak to you about tonight is Faith
Prayer is the source of Knowledge and wisdom Solomon asked for wisdom and it was Granted to Him. From God.
James 1:5“5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
And to knowledge temperance-Temperance signifies moderation, continence, or self-restraint
controlling ourselves and our emotions is our witness to the World. We are examples of God.
 2 Timothy 2:22
“22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
 James 4:7
“7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
 and to temperance patience-
 1 Thessalonians 1:3
“3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;”
Romans 15:4
“4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”
; and to patience godliness; -
 1 Timothy 2:1–2
“1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”
 1 Timothy 6:6
“6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.”
And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity
 James 2:8
“8 If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
 1 Thessalonians 4:9
“9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.”
 1 John 4:20
“20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?”
For if these things be in you, and abound
So, the secret is right here These things must be in you and be in full practice
Remember our servant he took the Talent and buried it. The servant did not put it to any use at all He Buried it and was dormant and of no value to the Master. Remember the Mater came expecting a return on his investment
 Conclusion
This Parable is an example of Our Lord and Savior. He left us a Talent. The Talent of Faith. It is given to us to use and multiply. I ask are you letting your Talent lay dormant is it buried by the things of this world? Could be buried under fear? The fear of ridicule from unbelievers? could it be buried under shame? The shame of our former lifestyle. Is it because we like Mary are just busy and cumbered by Life? Faith like the Body needs to be exercised by being used. we build by reading the Word of the Lord. By Attending Church services where the word is preached. Faith cometh by Hearing. We build Faith with our Testimonies. We build it by Love to our neighbors. He knows his people by their Love one to another. So, I ask will you build your Faith Multiply it so that when the Lord our God returns, he will find faith in you. Can God count on you to be faithful and will you be full of Faith at His Return? I believe that every aspect of our life is related to the Faith that we have in our situation.
Closing
Job was a Man full of Faith and there has been no trial as severe as His. But his faith in a righteous and Just God kept him focused and when his friends accused him, he stayed the course and kept the Faith. Abraham, how did you feel when God asked you for your Son? The Bible say that he believed God and would even raise him up from the dead if need be. So, I ask again How is your Faith will you work at increasing it will you add to it I believe you will and we will all grow together in Christ our Lord.
