News & Prayer

News - and Freedom - updates are prayer for Israel.
As Thomas Jefferson once said,
"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and what never will be. If we are to guard against ignorance and remain free, it is the responsibility of every American to be informed." - Thomas Jefferson

The Middle east is as close to starting WW3 as we have ever been.
Israel will move into Gaza to to remove Hamas. - keep pray for support of Israel - call for peace and to stop may mount in coming weeks, but that would only embolden the terrorists to attack again. the Palestinians need a new leader that will not divert the humanitarian aid to terrorism and teach hate. Tht will require a miracle.
Beware of Deception - (Biden and many leftist leaders are quietly aligning with Israel after having had a clear track record of working against Israel. They are being false. Speaking designed to deflect and camouflage true support of Iran, Hamas and others that are against Israel. The clear intentions of Obama and Biden administrations to Support Iran and enable their NUclear production capabilities have a long long track record and have been clearly evident with plenty of evidence. see the “truth ofver news” report from Ephoch times.

Did the 6 Billion that was released in September get blocked again? or was thatr fake news? Trump had frozen those funds. Biden released them in September against the objections of Congress. They traded $ to get some hostages back. But Funds are fungible. Increased Iran's budget that is HUGE compared to their yearly budget allowing them to spend it wherever they want it. Iran plans to start a AR and the Blinken State department admitted Iran would use in a manner consistent with their pattern of warfare. They are also get allot of money by selling Oil to china. Obama is the one that started the deals with Iran and allowed the to start hiding there

4 Keys to hearing God’s voice.

Summary: We must hear God’s voice in these days.

Speaking truth is important if you love people. But need to know we could be challenged, and attacked when we speak the Truth in LOVE. We need to be OK with that and not intimidated.
Jesus spoke good teaching in Luke 16:1-13 “the parable of the dishonest manager”. but if produced hatred toward Him fomr the Pharasees.
Luke 16:14 ESV
14 The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they ridiculed him.
What Jesus response?
He did not slink away, he responded telling them that they might try to justify themselves before men, but God saw through that and they were not justified in God’s sight. Luke 16:15–17 (ESV)
Because Jesus know he was hearing God’s voice to share the parable, he was not shocked and apologetic when it produced a negative reaction.
The reaction of the pharisees told more about their hearts than anything problematic about Jesus message.
When we speak, we must KNOW the TRUTH and know we are speaking what God is leading us to share. For that reason, we must Hear Gods Voice!
How can we effectively tune in to God and hear him so that we can get direct personal messages from God? Is this something we should expect as Christians?

My efforts to Hear God’s Voice.

I got saved in 2nd grade
I was not hearing Gods voice.
I rededicated my life to God in high school at a David Wilkerson Crusade.
I was not hearing Gods voice.
I was leading bible studies in IVCF at college & co-leading the College class at my Church at college.
But not hearing Gods voice.
I loved God but I could not hear God’s voice.
But I was believing a lie. Why?
I met Paula. I was shocked to realizing that she could hear Gods voice.
I was missing something.
Began awakening a desire in me to hear God more clearly.
over the years I began to realize I had made it harder than it was. I
It was simple. But I made it hard. I was tool analytic and expected God to to is my way.
In my search to know how to year God’s voice I found that those that could hear God’s voice had trouble describing how it worked exactly.
That’s why I like this Book and this teacher “Mark Virkler” and “4 keys fo Hearing God’s voice.”,
Its simple
Jesus thought it was simple. He told his disciples
John 10:27 ESV
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
It was so simple Jesus did not indicate it needed any particular process of pattern.
Never the less Mark Virkle teaches that there are 4 simple keys to hearing God’s voice. I think they are very helpful.

Summary - Overview of 4 keys

What are the 4 keys?
Quiet yourself down - STILLNESS
Fixing your eyes on Jesus - VISION
tuning to spontaneity - SPONTANEITY
and writing - 2-way JOURNALING
If someone asks you “how do you hear God’s voice” say this:
Repeat after me:
“hearing Gods voice is as simple as,
quieting yourself down,
fixing your eyes on jesus,
tuning to spontaneity,
and writing.
4 keys in one simple sentence!
We noted that several weeks ago that this approach was effectively what Habakkuk did.
He lived in Israel during a great falling away from God. he told God all the horrible things happening in Isreal at that time. in Chapter 1, and we noted that it looked like today in our culture… or in Israel before the War that started last Saturday.
we could each imagine writing something very much like this to God today
After he stated is concerns and asked his questions, He needed an answer from God…
Habakkuk 2:1–2 ESV
1 I will take my stand at my watchpost and station myself on the tower, and look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint. 2 And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.
You can see the 4 keys here in these 2 verses.

Key #1 Hab2:1a “I will stand at my watchpost” STILLNESS

Quiet yourself, in the Lord’s Presence
This quieting is no “emptying” But looking to God for the answer. a very focused quietness
just like a guard at a watch post but instead of looking for the enemy looking to God.
this key is confirmed in other places in scripture…
Psalm 62:5 ESV
5 For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.
Psalm 46:10 ESV
10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
SO it is OK to be still. just not empty. - looking for God’s “still small voice” this is seen when Eljiah waited for God on Mty Sania 1 Kings 19:11–12 His dialog with God starts with a “whisper” turns into a dialog, that turns into some spiritual anointings, But it starts as whisper.
When you get silent before the Lord and wait for him to listen, I suggest you get in the habit of “silencing the room” before you start to listen to God.
Silencing the room: Pray and focus on God. Praise him, and thank him that he speaks to His children and will speak to you. Ask him for ears to hear, and command the enemy to leave.
If you feel that you can only hear God through logic, and reason you are struggling with the Lie of RATIONALISM. You need to believe that God can can speak directly to my spirit and mind.
Settle you mind on GOD. and he will settle you.
Isaiah 26:3 ESV
3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

Key #2 “I will look out to see what he will say to me” - VISION

Habakkuk 2:1 ESV
1 I will take my stand at my watchpost and station myself on the tower, and look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint.
STRANGE - he was “looking” to see what God would say… not LISTENING.
We need to be sure to ask god to speak to us through VISION!
This one I have to admit is harder for me. I do not yet have comfort with seeing visions with the eye of my heart. We need to practice this. That we can allow our imagination to be opened up to the spirit.
YOu may naturally be more comfortable with left brain operation. REASON and LOGIC… But God obviously speaks through visions and images and art and music which are right-brained forms of thinking and I need to be open to them as well and actively seek and ask God to speak to me through them.
Criminals only counterfeit things that are real & Valuable.
So if Satan is bothering to counterfeit VISION as a way of talking to people, what should our response be?
STOP seeking visions from GOD - wrong.
Ask God to teach us and speak to us.
This is what God wants to do with us
How do I know?
Numbers 12:6 ESV
6 And he said, “Hear my words: If there is a prophet among you, I the Lord make myself known to him in a vision; I speak with him in a dream.
God want to receive dreams and visions
Acts 2:17 ESV
17 “ ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;
So this is for us. lets not fall into the error of Esau an disdain our birthright.
lets pay repentance.
I repent for not giving God the eyes of my heart to God and believing and asking for Vision. for this day forward I will ask, look and believe you for vision.
From now on I will believe you to give me visions in the eye of my heart… in the screen of your mind. thank you jesus.

Key #3 What He will say to me...” - Spontaneous flow of thoughts.

God’s voice often comes as spontaneous thoughts.
The definition we got from the Love Speaks Book by Carl Wesley Anderson is pretty good i think.
What is the still small voice? “an inaudible voice originating in your sanctified inner spirit and traveling to your mind subconsciously as a “thought”, or flood of thoughts.” - pg 72 “Love Speaks” Carl Wesley Anderson
we are going to see that there are some things that will help you know when you are tuned into the voice of God, and you can start to hear what He is saying.
How many of you have been doing something and suddenly get a thought to pray for someone. and you do and you find out it was important later?
Was that God speaking to you?
what was it like?
A spontaneous flow… flow is a big deal for me to tell if god is speaking.
flow in Prayer… called “anointing”
no flow in Prayer — my trying… but not flowing that is me.
Flow in worship - H.S. worshiping in anointing… easy
NO flow in worship… not easy… mechanical.
THe idea of flow is in the bible
John 7:37–39 ESV
37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ ” 39 Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
flow rivers of living water… (H.S.) from the heart.
that is what the H.S. feels like.
we should Turn to “flow”
Key#4 Then the Lord said, “Record the vision...” - 2-WAY JOURNALING
Write out the flow of thoughts and visions within you (two-way journaling)
not just journal-ling… 2-way journaling.
Ecclesiastes 5:1–2 ESV
1 Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil. 2 Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few.
Let your words be few.
Let God do most of the talking.
80-90% of the talking
Examples in the bible?
Revelation
Moses
all the prophets
psalms.
all demonstrate 2-way journal-ling.
share what you write with a trusted counselor. to see if your on track.
your developing a new skill of listening,, you need need confirmation.
need faith to press on.
Don’t shift from faith to doubt … listen and flow for a long time, then review when your done getting the flow
write it down. this is the value… of journaling, you can now test the message with scripture, and not stop and test and doubt after 2 words.

Summary Spiritual Intimacy:

The Desire of God’s Heart (Nathan shared 2 weeks ago)
Spend the first part of the day with God.
God has always wanted this for his people.

In the Garden - They spent time with God every day!

Genesis 3:8 ESV
8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
GOD wants to talk to you. If you know how to listen.
We need to have god speak to us about what is right and Wrong. if we try to do that without God, we can find our heart can lead us astray.
God created us to Communicate with us. Why would he not be available each day, and want to see any barriers in our communication overcome?

Israel / Moses - God called the Nation of Israel listen to him!

Deut 5:22-31; James 2:23 ; the Israelites chose not to hear his voice! they decided to avoid God and let Moses be their intermediary. GOD obviously longed to have them want to hear his voice.
Moses Got a relationship, but the Israelites got a bunch of rules.
If your constantly living out of law rather than relationship you will feel condemned.
If your reassuring yourself against others, you will feel condemned.
But if you have a relationship with God and know He loves you. You will not.

David - God’s desire for relationship & communication

Acts 13:22 ESV
22 And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’
We see this in David’s Psalms… He pours out his heart, Selah (a musical interlude to listen to consider God). then out of his spirit the H.S. would speak truth about what he was to do. we see his journal-ling in Psalms.

Jesus - Jesus is a picture of God desire of relationship with us

John 17:3 ESV
3 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
that they know you = “Ginosko” - intimate knowing. - this intimacy with God is called “eternal life” that is what God wants.

Mary & Martha - “doers” need to slow down and spend time with Jesus

The story in Luke 10:38 we see that Mary chooses something better, to spend time with Jesus. We do not always need to do stuff. But should also not be lazy and slothful… so lets have some good balance here!

Paul - Seeks to Know God fully by being like Jesus

Philippians 3:10 ESV
10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
“Ginosko” - Paul was directed by the H.S. on his missionary trips.

US - Do not refuse him who is speaking to you (Jesus)

It is clear that all through scripture God wanted to speak to his people. DOes he want to do the same to you? yes clearly.
Hebrews 12:18–26 ESV
18 For you have not come to what may be touched, a blazing fire and darkness and gloom and a tempest 19 and the sound of a trumpet and a voice whose words made the hearers beg that no further messages be spoken to them. 20 For they could not endure the order that was given, “If even a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned.” 21 Indeed, so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, “I tremble with fear.” 22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, 23 and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. 25 See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven. 26 At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”
This is your choice to listen to God’s voice.
Israel chose not to. What will you choose?
If Israel lost so much when they gave up listening to God and made Moses do it, how much more will we loose after Jesus has opened the way for us?
What are we going to choose?
PRACTICAL - Try 2-way journaling it now. Ask him what he thinks of you.

Sermon: Key #1 STILLNESS (Meditation)

I find getting still before God to be a significant Challenge. anyone else?
Today I want to dismantle a misconception we inherited from our Culture (the Word), and has been propgated by our advisary the Devil. And Give you a major help in the first step Key #1.
How do you sense God’s voice speaking to you?
Answer: Key # 3 - is to tune to spontaneity…
Gods voice to us is sensed as a living spontaneous thought, Idea, word, feeling of vision.
Have you noticed?
Thoughts from my mind are analytical (Study)
Thoughts from my heart are spontaneous
When you have a verse leap of the page and impact you in a profound way that is an example of a spontaneous thought. Most likely from God.
When we covered the Voice’s of God this summer what was this called?
#2 The Living word of GOD (Rhema)
this is a word that is spoken into us by God. (alive)
Jesaus said John 6:63
John 6:63 ESV
63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
The spoken word of God are Spirit and life.
#1 the Revealed established word of God (Logos)
this is a word that is Truth and revealed
Jesus is the Logos - he is the Very WORD of GOD. (the content of the message)
the Logos is the actual written established word of God.
Comparing the LOGS and RHEMA in scripture.
John 17:6–8 ESV
6 “I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7 Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you. 8 For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me.
notice the use of the word “word(s)” in this passage it is revealing because it uses both the Greek word Logos and Rhema.
they have kept your word [Logos] (written content rules)
I have seven them the words[Rhema] when you gave me. (spoken living direct)
We need both the STANDARD of the witten word of Truth. [Logos]
We need the Living word for the relationship [Rhema]
I love to study the WORD of GOD it is fascinating… but lets take a look at every place the WORD of GOD uses the word study.. OT first.
For Hebrew words that are translated study in ESV, only 4.
Ecclesiastes 12:9 ESV
9 Besides being wise, the Preacher also taught the people knowledge, weighing and studying and arranging many proverbs with great care.
study (explore search out) wisdom = deeper than head knowledge
Nehemiah 8:13–14 ESV
13 On the second day the heads of fathers’ houses of all the people, with the priests and the Levites, came together to Ezra the scribe in order to study the words of the Law. 14 And they found it written in the Law that the Lord had commanded by Moses that the people of Israel should dwell in booths during the feast of the seventh month,
Searching for content… (understand, comprehend) so they could Obey! (heart)
Ezra 7:10 ESV
10 For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the Lord, and to do it and to teach his statutes and rules in Israel.
Study and teach (enquire about , seek with care) came out of his heart!
Psalm 111:2 ESV
2 Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them.
studied by all (enquire about , seek with care) who delight in them… this is a attitude of the heart.
Ecclesiastes 12:12 ESV
12 My son, beware of anything beyond these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
Much study is a weariness!
This word study actually just means study and it appears to be quite boring and wearing.
no wonder students in our schools are board… they no longer get more than LOGOS (and often it is Not LOGS at all, but lies). there is no more REHMA!
What about the New testament?
Who remembers that verse “study to show yourself approved”? Lets look at it.
2 Timothy 2:15 ESV
15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
Do your best to present yourself = Be diligent to present yourself = (not “study” to show yourself!) That was from KJV and did not fully reveal the intent of the word to our modern understanding of Study. The word “Study” in our modern world is a fact and reason proposition only totally left brain.
However in the NT the word sometimes translated “study” is
Study = σπουδάζω spoudazō be zealous; be eager
This Diligence is a zelous eager attitude from Heart, not boring STUDY!
All other places that were “study” in NT were using this word. to have a zealous eager heart.
This makes sense right, Paul warned us about knowledge that would puff us up with pride.
1 Corinthians 8:1 ESV
1 Now concerning food offered to idols: we know that “all of us possess knowledge.” This “knowledge” puffs up, but love builds up.
Study that is done with only facts (google facts at that are not always real facts), and reason. that sort of “research and study” is of some value but can easily puff us up with pride. Is it not better to get God’s thoughts on this?
if I reason alone i have room to boast. all boasting is sin
James 4:16 ESV
16 As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
This kind of study is not found in scripture.
it is self centered humanism, and rationalism. these are false Gods.
I wonder if our Bible “study” it should be called something better.
instead of reasoning it out apart from God, shouldn’t we do it with Him?
Isaiah 1:18 ESV
18 “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.
so when we have a question, and need an answer, Let’s, Go phone a friend our best friend. Ask for a lifeline and get the creator to give you His thoughts. — He greatly desires to spend time with you.
this is what I do at work all the time. This is “spirit-lead reasoning”

Meditation is better than study

God has something better than study - Meditation (~20x bible commands us to meditate in the OT)
If Mediation is better than study? what is the difference?

1897. הָגָה hâgâh, haw-gaw´; a prim. root [comp. 1901]; to murmur (in pleasure or anger); by impl. to ponder:—imagine, meditate, mourn, mutter, roar, × sore, speak, study, talk, utter.

to murmur (in pleasure or anger) heart involved. (related to the sound of the harp)
to ponder / imagine = engage the right side of your brain. with vision.
mediate - a bit of circular reasoning there…
mourn - heart engaged in this for sure.
/ mutter / babble = this could be considered as speaking in tongues in your prayer - you can do this over anything that you are asking God. let the H.S. ask the questions for you!
this is not a stretch at all. according to Paul the Holy Spirit moves in us with groans.
Romans 8:26 ESV
26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
Paul may have been thinking about this word for meditation when he was inspired to write this. It was something he was familiar with. This was his experience with the Holy spirit and mediation with God. that there was a groaning from the H.S.
also note the “roar” - this gets pretty dynamic!
Or you can just study. with your limited ability to reason based on the content. That might be good, but your missing out on what Meditation is, if that is all your doing.
Ask god what he thinks and feels! listen. imagine how he feels about it. let him guide all your faculties to engage at a much deeper level.
Pastor Stan did that allot, ask God what he thinks about… xyz.
The International Standard Bible Encyclopaedia, Volumes 1–5 (Meditation)
MEDITATION, med-i-tāʹshun (הָגוּת, hāghūth, שִׂיחָה, sīḥāh): “Meditation” is the tr of hāghūth, from hāghāh, “to murmur,” “to have a deep tone,” hence “to meditate” ; of hāghīgh, “sighing,” “moaning”; of higgāyōn, “the murmur” or dull sound of the harp, hence meditation; of sīaḥ, “speech,” “meditation”; of sīḥāh, a “bowing down,” “musing”. “To meditate” is the tr of hāghāh (Josh 1:8; Ps 1:2; 63:6; Isa 33:18 AV); of sīaḥ (Gen 24:63); of suaḥ (Ps 119:15, 23, etc; 143:5, AV “muse”; 1 Ch 16:9; Ps 105:2 m). In Apoc we have “to meditate” (Ecclus 14:20, “Blessed is the man that shall meditate in wisdom,” RVm “most authorities read come to an end” [teleutḗsei]; 39:1, “meditateth in the law of the Most High” [dianoéomai]). The lack of meditation is a great want in our modern religious life. In the NT. we have “to meditate” (προμελετάω, promeletáiō, ‘to take care beforehand’), Lk 21:14, and “meditate” (μελετάω, meletáō, “to take care”), 1 Tim 4:15 AV (RV “be diligent”); cf Phil 4:8; Col 3:2.
Meditation as “murmur to have a deep tone…” hāghāh
Psalm 49:3 ESV
3 My mouth shall speak wisdom; the meditation of my heart shall be understanding.
Meditation as “Moaning, or sighing” hāghīgh
Psalm 5:1–2 ESV
1 Give ear to my words, O Lord; consider my groaning. 2 Give attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you do I pray.
Meditation as “murmur with dull sound of a harp” of higgāyōn
Psalm 19:14 ESV
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Meditation as “speech to God” sīaḥ,
Psalm 104:34 ESV
34 May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the Lord.
Meditiation as “bowing down,” “musing” sīḥāh,
Psalm 119:97–99 ESV
97 Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day. 98 Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me. 99 I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation.
Bypass your teachers because you are gaining wisdom from the most high teacher.
This is nothing staggering. this is how we got the scriptures.
2 Timothy 3:16 NLT
16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
Inspiration = meaning “breathed forth by God” - How the scriptures came to us.
2 Timothy 3:16 ESV
16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
IS the Scriptures inerent (without errors) in all it teaches? (Yes)
Did that happen because the writers of the books of the bible were really good at reasoning our the nature and purpose of God? (a left brain effort)
Or did they also flow with the H.S?
They flowed with the Holy spirit allowing things like Vision, and tongues and inspiration to occur (left brain)
So essentially they were letting God anoint both sides of their brain… this is a eastern view as opposed to our western view.
But reasoning guided by the Flow of the Holy spirit.
Choose to let the H.S. work with you in this way.
YOu presented to him your heart. when you got saved, make sure today that you have given him your brain as well. to let his HlSL flow through the variety of ways that the Bible shows us. Pictures, VIsions, murrmering/bable *tounges), and inner voice of God, inspired writing, music, creativity.
Present yourself to God… your thinking.
Without God, we are may not be that brilliant, but with him, we will receive brilliant ideas.
I choose to presnet my picturing capacity to the Holy Spirit, and ask the lord to guide me, and give me devine picuters I invite the HOly spirit to give me devine pictures. I trust that I will receive, because I am asking for the H.S. ANd he will give me a good thing.
Revelation 1:9–11 ESV
9 I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet 11 saying, “Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.”
Was he in right brian reasoning?
Or was he tuning into the Lord through mediation (in the spirit), and giving GOD access to his ears and of his mind the eyes of his heart?
Pastor Ken, I am not so sure abouthis…
Biblical backing:
2 Corinthians 10:2–5 ESV
2 I beg of you that when I am present I may not have to show boldness with such confidence as I count on showing against some who suspect us of walking according to the flesh. 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,
The real battle is with arguments and opinions, and thoughts. what do we do? take thoughts captive… present them to the Lord.
Pega one of the words for “intercession” - the chance eccounter” - I honor chance encoutner thought. ( a flowing thought)
our spirit hearing Gods thoughts, and we are detecting them.
If you ever run into Reasoning that comes agasnt the the Knwoldege of God what shoudl you do?
Do we have reasoning and thoughts today that are against God?
They did not come by H.S. lead reasoning. God does not command us to reason without him. He calls us to reason with him. Reason together.
Meditation then is were you gain understanding from God directly. He breathes it into you through the spirit(breath) of God the H.S.
God is the Creator, he has all the best ideas, and is the source of creativity.
When you meditate you are engaging with the H.S. at multiple levels. and you receive leaps of what the world calls “intuition”. When it is lead by the H.S. as you meditate on God, you are receiving “revelation” “revealing”
Spirit is like a flow of living water.
Should we honor the river of god, the flow of the Holy spirit, over our own ideas and thoughts. this is a good choice.
how can we be sure?
look at the verse for the way we get to the flow of the spirit… Jesus explained it.
If anyone THIRSTS,
let him COME TO ME, (JEsus not any other source)
and Drink
Whoever believes in me
out of of his HEART
will flow rivers of living water
Is this true?
Do you doubt?
Command doubt leave in the name of JESUS!
In Meditation You can ask God all kinds of things. (non traumatic things for now)
What should I do?
How do I solve this problem?
What do you think about?
George Fredrik Handle asked God for inspiration he wrote “Messiah” Hallelujah. by hearing music in the back of his head. It just came to him and he wrote it down as fast as he could. it was not as much perspiration (finely tuning and crafting it step by step from his own imaginings) it was inspiration. It was not wood hay or stubble 500 years later.
God wants to give you revelation in the area he has placed you and designed you for and give you a “leadership anointing” essentially spirit-lead revelation. by simply meditating on the LORD and talking and listening with him.
How many ideas in this world are the result of God breathing it into people? more than we can realize I think.
