Walking with God Under pressure
I was so exited to go to camp yavapines and work with the kids, people said i would be hard they were right. Being a counselor is not an easy job especially when you have a 1 hour shower break and entire day full of winy and hyper kids. The first 2 week were really fun, it was camp meeting and we had lots of fun. I had time to get um in the morning have my devotional was and talk with God in the cool of the day. I went to breakfast took my time to eat and had fun while at it. I also had time to fish, visit with friends, and go hiking. It was truly a blessing.
Once those two weeks were gone, it was over. My day started with waking up extra early tirelessly making an effort to stay awake and study the sabbath school lesson, which was virtually impossible. I still remember the first night I had to sleep in the cabin with the kids, well lets just day i did’t sleep at all. I had to stay up all night because a kid wanted to go home, he couldn’t sleep, he was scared and lonely and wanted to be back home with his parents. After that night it was all down hill from there. I wasn’t used to going to sleep late and waking up early, I don’t function like that, therefore I had a problem. I stared leaving my personal devotion aside and felt terrible, misguided and without the presence of God.
And I know that there are times in our lives when to want to take control of everything and do as we see fit. Just as I did.
