Looking for you

Apostels creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;* the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic** church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Video. looking for you

How often do we get confused on what we are looking for? As we watched the video/listened to the song. I’am sure we all thought of many different things we chased or are chasing in our life that did not satisfy our the desire we thought we were chasing. Last week we read

Luke 11:9–10 NIV
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

What are we seeking? What are we knocking for?

It is simple even though we do not know at the time we are seeking and knocking, but we are seeking Jesus Christ.

when we are chasing things we desire in our human flesh.

Proverbs 8:17 NIV
I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

So when we are seeking things such as being fulfilled should we not do as we just read in proverbs?

we were told in the old testament that Jesus will love those who love him. as well he loves those who seek him and they shall find him.

what more fulfillment can we ask for than Jesus’s love.

I realize we search many different mountains and valleys trying to satisfy our need for fulfillment. But if we truly have accepted God as our Lord and Savior what more do we need. he promises to meet our every need. and if we truly make our life about him we will be content following his lead. Each of us have different roads to travel. some of us are to preach his Good News. Others are to show his love in areas where you do not expect to see God working. You see first we need to pray and seek what his plan is for us.in

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
You see no matter where he leads us he plans for us to prosper and be safe and to have a future and hope. It also reads in
Psalm 32:8 NIV
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

So rest assured He will guide our every move as long as we allow him to do so. No we do not control Gods plan. Although we as humans think we have all the answers and try to do life by ourselves. we forget that God is the great creator and director over all things. When we start to succeed in things we begin to think look at what I have accomplished. When all along it has been God laying the plan for us to prosper and we forget who to give all the honor and praise. let’s look at our addition Yes our church has raised the money to build it but only by Gods plan and grace has it been able to become a reality. We will have a dedication service and a homecoming for it when it is completed. So that we can make sure everyone knows only through Gods plan was this possible. This is a good example of how God makes things happen in his time and through his plan. If we listen to

Proverbs 3:5–6 NIV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

The lord promises he will guide us in the proper way of doing things. let’s look at

1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 NIV
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

So as we follow Jesus Christ we need to always ask for his guidance and give thanks in everything God does in our life. Which we need to remember that is everything.

As we go out this week we need to remind ourselves to tell God

We are looking for You.

AMEN
