On Fire - eager, enthusiastic, and zealous

He's more than important. He's preeminent, Transcendent, paramount, sovereign

Revelation 2:1–5 (KJV 1900)

1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

2 I know thy works, and THY LABOR, and THY PATIENCE , and how thou CANST NOT BEAR THEM THAT ARE EVIL l: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

3 And HAST BORNE, anPATIENCE PATIENCE, and for my name’s SAKE HAS LABORED, and hast NOT FAINTED.

4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

David had a heart for God

Disciples were marked by a boldness to serve God without compromise John The Baptist prophesied of one who would baptize with the Holy Spirit and Fire.

David had a heart for God - 1 Sam 13:14

1 Samuel 13:14 ESV

But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought out a man after his own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”

Elijah zealously pursued the Lord - 1 Kings 19:14

1 Kings 19:14 NKJV

14 And he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; because the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.”

Hezekiah tore down the high places - 2 Kings 18:4

2 Kings 18:4 ESV

4 He removed the high places and broke the pillars and cut down the Asherah. And he broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made, for until those days the people of Israel had made offerings to it (it was called Nehushtan).

John The Baptist prophesied of one who would baptize with the Holy Spirit and Fire.

The Opposite Of Fire Is Luke Warm. Revelation 3:15-16

“ ‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.

Little commitment

Lacks joy

Without love

Religious but lack/reject the power of God.

On Fire believers reject…

…in pursuit of God’s will.

How To Stay On Fire

Pray - Acts 4:31

Read - 2 Tim 3:16-17; Joshua 1:8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

Express in worship - 2 Corinthians 3:18 “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”

Surround yourself w/other combustible believers - Mark 6:7 “And he called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits.”

Set others on fire/use your gift/SERVE -

Pray - Lord, give me a passion for you that makes every other desire of this world be consumed by it. Make me bold for you so I would express your love, be on fire for you and set others on fire for you.
