King James Version (Chapter 12:18-24)
For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, 19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: 20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: 21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:) 22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, 23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

I. If the blood still speaks then it must mean that the blood spoke in the past!

4 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. 2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. 4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. 8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. 9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper? 10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground. 11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand; 12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth. 13 And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.

The big question here now is what did Abel’s blood say?

II. What did Abel’s blood say?

Abel’s blood cried out murder.

And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. 9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper? 10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.

Abel’s blood cried out martyr.
Abel’s blood cried out consequence.

And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand; 12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.

Abel’s blood cried out punishment.

13 And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear. 14 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.

In the bigger picture Abel’s blood cried out vengeance.
NOW HERE IS THE THING!

III. Even though Abel’s blood cried out there was no salvation in Abel’s blood, because Abel’s blood was that of His Father!

EXPLAIN
His blood could only cry out murder, martyr, consequence, punishment, vengeance.
As a matter of fact everyone that was born into this earth through man and woman inherited their father’s blood.
That means everyone was born in sin and shapen in iniquity.
King James Version (Chapter 5:12)
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come...through the offence of one many be dead...the judgment was by one to condemnation...by one man’s offence death reigned by one...Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation...For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners...
Revelation
All the blood that has cried out through the ages.
But I thank God that interwoven in the fabric of time itself there is a one who came onto the scene some 2000 years ago and His name is Jesus!
You see, our text tells us that you are come unto
King James Version (Chapter 12:24)
…Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Better. Better. Better. It speaks better things than that of Abel. Look at the person next to you and say “Jesus blood is better!” Jesus blood is stronger! Jesus blood is purer! Jesus blood is richer! Jesus blood is Holy! His blood is better!
Come with me in this for a moment because now we need to answer the question as to why Jesus’ blood is better than that of Abel’s blood and why Jesus’ blood speaks better things than that of Abel’s blood. I mean,

IV. Why is Jesus’ blood better and what are the better things that Jesus’ blood speaks!

Well first you gotta go back to Jesus’ birth. jesus’ blood is better because of Jesus’ birth!
Remember Abel inherited. Abel’s daddy was Adam. That means that Adam’s blood was passed down to Joseph. The one that married Mary who gave birth to Jesus. Here is the difference.
Jesus’ daddy was not Joseph. Jesus had a Father that was not of this earth but His Father was in heaven!
There was a bloodline. The bloodline of humanity started with Adam and Eve but the blood of Jesus started with Himself! His blood was not passed down or reliant upon someone who came before Him therefore He was not living in His Fathers mistakes. Instead He was living in His Fathers holiness, His Fathers glory. This is why He could say statements like Me and My Father are One! This is why He could pray to His Father in heaven and say things like,

5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

Jesus’ blood was pure! Jesus blood was Holy! Jesus blood was righteous! His blood was not tainted with sin! He didn’t get it from fallen man because He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit!

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. 29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Holy, untainted, pure and righteous blood! No sin nature! This is why John the Baptist when He saw Jesus coming said “Behold, the Lamb of God, the spotless lamb of God! who takes away the sins of the world!”
We talk about the resurrection and how this seperates Jesus from all the rest. How the tomb of Buddha is not empty. How the tomb of Confucius is not empty. How the tomb of Muhammed is not empty. It’s true!
But that is not the only powerful and absolute truth and even advantage that Jesus has over all the rest. Its not just in the fact that He rose from the dead and that is still alive church.
It is also in the fact that He was the only one conceived inside the woman by the power and the Spirit of the living God. God Himself who is clothed by the heavens and uses this earth as His footstool allowed Himself to be clothed by human flesh.
Now just watch this. You remember what scripture says.

And Cain talked with Abel his brother:

And Cain talked with Abel his brother:

And Cain talked with Abel his brother:

What are you doing talking with your brother when you hate him. Why are you talking with your brother when you want to kill him. Watch this!

And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

They were both in the same field.
But Abel was a keeper of sheep Cain was a teller of the ground. What are you both doing in the same field?
Abel come to where I am. Abel come to this fallen place here. Abel come to where the curse is. God has cursed this ground and I am trying to work what God has cursed. But come to where the curse is. Come to the fallen place. I dont want to fight you on your Holy land. I want to fight you where the curse is. I dont want to fight you where your sacrifice is given and the blood is poured out I want to fight you where everything is dying. Come to my territory Abel.

And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

Jesus is in the glories of heaven. The devil already tried to fight God on His home turf.
The devil tries to destroy Him to trip Him up.
Then the devil gets in His own people.
Judas
The religious leaders
He came unto His own and His own received Him not.
Wait a minute Cain and Abel.
His brethren crucify Him, and they do it in
The cross and the blood.
The blood pours down unto and into the ground. Wait a minute the cursed ground. The fallen ground.
When it covers the earth below Jesus’ feet it cries out! But because of His Holiness. Because of His Purity. because of His purpose. Because of who He is it does not cry out what Abel’s blood cried out. It cries out and speaks better things!
Where Abel’s blood cried out murder, Jesus’ blood cries out mercy!
Abel’s blood cried out martyr. I lay down my own life, no man takes it from me, I lay it down of my own accord. I could have called 10,000 angels.
Where Abel’s blood cried out punishment, Jesus’ blood cries out pardon!
Where Abel’s blood cried out vengeance, Jesus’ blood cries out victory!
Where Abel’s blood cried out consequence, Jesus’ blood cries out conviction!
Better, better, better.
Condemnation vs. Consecration!
Would you be free from the burden of sin? There's pow'r in the blood, pow'r in the blood; Would you o'er evil a victory win? There's wonderful pow'r in the blood.
There is pow'r, pow'r, wonder-working pow'r In the blood of the Lamb; There is pow'r, pow'r, wonder-working pow'r In the precious blood of the Lamb.
Would you be free from your passion and pride? There's pow'r in the blood, pow'r in the blood; Come for a cleansing to Calvary's tide– There's wonderful pow'r in the blood.
What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. O precious is the flow that makes me white as snow; no other fount I know; nothing but the blood of Jesus.
was a leper outside the city None would come close But You wouldn’t let go What worked back then Will work again I know the blood is still the blood And I had an issue No one could help I tried them all My last try I crawled And what worked back then Will work again I know the blood is still the blood Let's sing And oh, how precious How beautiful This priceless love I've come to know And in the midst of My darkest storm I know the blood is still the blood It is, it is
