Intro.
-This is week 2 of a 4 week series of looking at the problem of evil and shedding light on the effects of darkness.
-It’s October and the world seems to get a little more evil and sinister as we get closer to Halloween.
-Many people spend countless hours watching horror movies
-We have become so numb to the evil that is in our world that it has become normal to us.
-Many Christians have developed different theologies to explain evil and God.
-(FCF) Many Christians believe that God only works in the good, not the evil/darkness!
-However believer’s try to explain evil, Romans tells us that God brings good from evil.
- Knowing that God works for the good on behalf of those who love Him, we must live out this truth in a fallen world.
-This morning we will be in Romans 8:28-29
-Some context about Romans
-Author - Paul
-Audience- the church in Rome predominately Gentile but including a minority of Jesus.
-Theme- Paul writes to the church in Rome to present his basic statement of the gospel: God’s plan of salvation for all peoples, Jew and Gentile alike
-He was preparing for his visit to Rome
-Let’s read Romans 8:28–29 “28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.”
-Pray!

-As we see evil and darkness around us we have to know that God is at work, even if we can’t see.
-He works it all out for the good of those who love him / do you love Him today?
-You are called for His purpose
-You bear His image
-Knowing that God works for the good on behalf of those who love Him, we must live out this truth in a fallen world.
-Have reassurance that God works in all things!
