Chapter 2
Human life in Rome was extremely subjective. They sought those who served a purpose for their society and not keep up useless space. They often killed young children who were weak or deformed. This was a tradition that consisted in other societies as well. However, Christianity was raised on the truth that God died for all men. The reminder was present that the for early Christians that Jesus held the little children in high regard. One of the common practices of the time was abandonment. The young children who were not killed were often abandoned in Rome. Christians, often took these young children into there home and adopted them.
These truths indicate to us that Christianity served a massive role in the fight against abortion, but also against the fight of abuse And neglect. the early Christian’s displayed a clear belief that the children of the world were important to God, therefore they were important to them. This display was a clear depiction of the way that a Christian should love the children of the world. These truths later helped to virtually eliminate things such as human sacrifice and canoballism.
