Question: Do we worry about anything? What do we worry about? What are we anxious about? Why do we worry? Should we worry? When should we worry? What should we worry about?
Follow up: What keeps us from worrying? Why? Does it always keep us from worrying?
Reader 1
Matthew 6:25–34 | 25 “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? ASK THE QUESTION WHAT IS LIFE ABOUT - SHOULD RESPOND WITH A1/Ps 37.4 . Ask Reader 1 to restate in their own words, anyone else

Reader 2
26 “Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? Have you ever thought about how God keeps everything in motion, all the animals fed - Q11/A11 .
11 What are God’s works of providence? A11 "God’s works of providence are His most holy, wise, and powerful preserving and governing all His creatures; ordering them, and all their actions, to His own glory

Reader 3
27 “And who of you by being worried can add a single cubit to his life span?
11 What are God’s works of providence? A11 "God’s works of providence are His most holy, wise, and powerful preserving and governing all His creatures; ordering them, and all their actions, to His own glory
Psalm 103:19 “Yahweh has established His throne in the heavens, And His kingdom rules over all.”
Reader 4
28 “And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, 29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. ASK FOR A RESTATEMENT The most basic plants in the field are more beautiful, God makes them more beautiful than even Solomon - do we need to worry about that? Do we need to worry about anything else - Parent’s jobs
Reader 5
30 “But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! RESTATE
Teacher Reads v31-34
31 “Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ 32 “For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
SO WHAT? ASK WHY ANY OF THIS MATTERS AT ALL - Listen and push the point that some things are not our responsibility or concern
When parents have a newborn they do not expect the baby to worry about his food, they do expect the baby to squawk when he is hungry. But to worry or fret for a baby, that would be strange.
If we ask God to supply our needs in excess of what we can use can we expect Him to supply? Does that not mean that we do not trust in His providence. God is perfect in His administration, wise in His handling, powerful in His completeness. He keeps and manages everything and He does this for His own glory
Psalm 103:19 “Yahweh has established His throne in the heavens, And His kingdom rules over all.”
If we give this up to Him does that not mean that we can devote prayer with thankfulness to what He has supplied
FINAL READING
Philippians 4:6–8 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is dignified, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, consider these things.”
