Welcome:

Welcome Friends!
What a cool opportunity today to join in the celebration of PARKER & EMALIE as they express their desire and commitment to one another in marriage.
Jenn and I are so honored to be here to celebrate with you and have been honored to get to know y’all more the last several weeks, and the time has come we are here. Just take a deep breath, soak this in, cherish this moment. That is one of the things I wished someone would have told us. Slow down and enjoy it. I know there are lots of things we get ready and things we need to get done, but just for a moment lets slow down and enjoy what God has done to get us here and what he is doing.
I just want to remind us think of and than God for His God’s design for marriage.

God’s Design for Marriage:

As we look at God’s design for marriage. God is love and is not only the author of love but marriage. Marriage is designed and and defined by God between a man and a women, but not only did God create marriage, but one of the coolest things that is a mystery to us is marriage is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, pictures of the gospel. In the beginning of creation we see the picture of marriage between Adam and Eve and in Revelation we see the great Marriage between Christ and His Church. What is cool for me, is I have gotten to know y’all’s stories, encourage and pray for you - and believe and pray God is going to use your marriage to point each other to grow closer to Jesus and also be a great representation of the gospel for those who know you and are close to you. So lets remember always, and thank the Lord always for the opportunity and the mystery of marriage!

Hearing from the Word:

Now I want to encourage and remind you what it takes to have a great life giving marriage. Ephesians 5 says,
“Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,” - Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬-‭25‬ ‭
So really in order for marriage to be what God defined and designed, you ready for this, it to be it requires both of you to die to selfishness more than you have ever in your life. Jesus calls us to die to self and follow Him, AND when we step into a marriage covenant with someone it takes that dying to self to a whole other level, because you are with them constantly, but when we do this as Christ commands you get a marriage that is life giving to each other, and stands even in the toughest of times.
So now if both of you are committed to dying to self and follow Jesus, we can do this thing. OKAY,

Marriage Vows:

VOWS: PARKER and EMALIE please take each others hands and face each other. PARKER repeat after me.
GROOM: I, PARKER, take you EMALIE, to be my wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health; to love and to cherish until we are separated by death; as God is my witness, I give my promise.
BRIDE: I, EMALIE, take you PARKER, to be my husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health; to love and to cherish until we are separated by death; as God is my witness, I give my promise.
Having this kind of love you have chosen to exchange rings as the sign and seal of the vows you are making today. May we please have the rings.(GARRETT & SYDNEY WILL HAVE THE RINGS. ) As you wear these rings, whether you are together or apart for a moment, may they be constant reminders of these promises and the commitment you are making today.
GROOM: PARKER , will you take your ring and place it on the third finger of EMALIE’s lefthand, and repeat after me, this promise, saying,
“With this ring, I seal my promise, to be your faithful and loving husband, as God as my witness.”
BRIDE: EMALIE , will you take your ring and place it on the third finger of PARKER’s left hand, and repeat after me, this promise, saying,
“With this ring, I seal my promise, to be your faithful and loving wife, as God as my witness.”
