NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].
The key to unlocking your faith, is finding the locks, and unlocking them.
The key to unlocking your faith, is finding the locks, and unlocking them.
Lock #1 Uncertain Hope
Lock #1 Uncertain Hope
Key #1: Certain, Steadfast Hope
Key #1: Certain, Steadfast Hope
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,
We have this certain hope like a strong, unbreakable anchor holding our souls to God himself. Our anchor of hope is fastened to the mercy seat which sits in the heavenly realm beyond the sacred threshold,
Lock #2 Mental Assent
Lock #2 Mental Assent
John Wesley once said, “the devil has given the church a substitute for faith; one that looks and sounds so much like faith that only a few people can tell the difference. This substitute is called mental assent.”
Key #2: Partake of Divine Nature
Key #2: Partake of Divine Nature
by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Faith is not just knowledge, it a gift from God to us through His Word!
Lock #3 Sense Knowledge Faith
Lock #3 Sense Knowledge Faith
Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.”
So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”
And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”
And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Key #3: Acting on the Word independently of any sense evidence.
Key #3: Acting on the Word independently of any sense evidence.
And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,
Two types of Unbelief:
Two types of Unbelief:
Lack of knowledge
Refuse knowledge
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also will reject you from being priest for Me;
Because you have forgotten the law of your God,
I also will forget your children.
So we see that they were not able to enter [into His rest], because of their unwillingness to adhere to and trust in and rely on God [unbelief had shut them out].
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
unbelief= disobedience (unpersuadable)
unbelief= disobedience (unpersuadable)
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
