Stewards of God’s Grace

The Golden Rule

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

i. They did a study on what makes people happy.
ii. It was found that what makes people the happiest is when they are helping other people.

Don’t rob me of my blessing.

i. We are not crazy about receiving help.
ii. I have learned that you give people a blessing when you allow to them to help.
iii. I never turn down an offer.
Eating a meal in India.
i. Curry Potatoes A bottle of Pepsi.
ii. I can remember that meal also 10 years later.
iii. Not because of the taste or the atmosphere by sacrifice.
d. The study also found that the unhappiest people had a common trait.

Selfishness

ii. They define it like this.
iii. An unchanging tendency to devote one’s time and resources to one’s own interests and welfare—an unwillingness to inconvenience oneself for others.”
iv. Now we all can be selfish at times.
1. However, there is attitude of selfish behavior that one can have.
v. Let me give you a biblical example.

Jesus teaches the disciples.

Mark 10:35-45

i. “We want you to do us a favor.”
ii. What is your request?
iii. When you sit on the kings throne…
iv. We want to sit in

next to you, one on your right and the other on your left.”
1. We want the peasants to bow to us too.
v. How did the other disciples react to this?
vi. They became indignant – “incensed, offended, irate”
vii. Madder than old wet sittin hen!

Jesus calls a meeting.

i. Mark 10:42 (NLT) — 42 So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them.

c. Here is the crown jewel of servanthood.
i. Mark 10:45 (NLT) — 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

ii. If Jesus the King of kings and Lord of lords serves then we can too.
iii. That’s what it means to be a member of Grace Church.
iv. To serve like Jesus served.
v. To be stewards of God’s grace.

Stewards of God’s Grace

How to serve as Jesus served.

i. 1 Peter 4:10–11 (NLT) — 10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 11 Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.

1. Understanding Our Divine Call

v:10

“God has given each of you a gift.”

ii. These gifts are not random.
iii. By His grace, He has purposely given you the gift that you have.
iv. This is your calling.
v. Recognizing your gift is the first step to toward fulfilling your divine purpose.
vi. Don't make this hard.
vii. Just start serving.

2. Stewards of God's grace.

V:10

“Use them well to serve one another.”

ii. A steward is someone entrusted with a valuable possession and is responsible for managing it wisely.
iii. Using our calling wisely we build up the body of Christ.

3. We are to Serve with Faithful Hearts.

Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you.

ii. Our service should not be driven by selfish motives or a desire for recognition, but by a genuine love for God and others.
iii. When we serve with faithful hearts, we reflect the sacrificial love of Christ.
iv. We become beacons of light in a world often overshadowed by darkness.

4. The Ultimate Purpose: Glorifying God.

“Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ.”

ii. When we use our gifts to serve others in love, we mirror the selfless nature of our Savior.
iii. Our acts of kindness, compassion, and grace become a testament to God's love.

5. Empowered by God's Strength

“Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies.”

ii. His strength equips us to persevere.
iii. To overcome challenges.
iv. To serve faithfully in the face of difficulties.

Happy, happy, happy!
