21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
One of the most saddest, horrific, foolish, and unwise thing a person born on this earth can do neglect the opportunity to repent.
Space to repent means TIME to get thing right with God!
Now is the TIME to turn to God!!
Now is the time to SEEK the LORD. Isaiah 55:6-7
Isaiah 55:6–7 KJV 1900
6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, Call ye upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts: And let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; And to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Now is the TIME fall on God’s mercies
My prayer is that each of be aware of God’s that it because of God’s mercy and grace we are not consumed.
Lamentations 3:22–23 KJV 1900
22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
2 Peter 3:9 KJV 1900
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
It time to STOP making excuses take full responsibility and to live a Lifestyle of Repentance
A Life of of Repentance is a life changing, transforming, and turning away from from the fruits of darkness and turning toward the fruit of Righteousness.
Th context of the Rev 2: 18-23 deals with revelation regarding the church of Thyatira.. church full of charity, service, faith, and patience… but the church suffered ( submitted to , allowed, compromised with the spirit of fornication and idolatry).
Fornication- sexual sins
Idolatry - is putting things above God
Corinthian Repented
The Church of Corinth was tolerant of sexual sins also; however that church eventually took heed and repented.
1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV 1900
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Jezebel of theThyatira did not Repent
Unfortunately, the woman, the spirit in the church of Thyatira did not repent as result she and all those that followed her suffered death.
Revelation 2:18–23 KJV 1900
18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; 19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. 20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
Repentance is a lifestlye of doing God’s willnot act, traditiion, or one event’
Matthew 7:22–24 KJV 1900
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Repentance is dying daily to the old ways
It a lifestyle, way of living, a mindset,
Repentance was never meant to be a one time event or just coming to altar and asking for forgiveness.
Repentance is a daily dying of our ways and being renewed....
2 cor 4:16
2 Corinthians 4:16 KJV 1900
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
Galatians 2:20 KJV 1900
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Matthew 16:24 KJV 1900
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
How is Repentance measured?
One does not know if they are on track unless they have a way to measure.
In the book of Amos God used a blood to measure Israeal faithfulness.
We must be in align and agreement with God’s word in every area of my life.
Amos 3:3 KJV 1900
3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
As believer we must examine ourselves. 2 Cor 13:5
2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV 1900
5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
Repentance is measured by our obedience to God Word..
Repentance is a TRUE sign that we love the LORD and have his Spirit with us .
1 John 5:1–5 KJV 1900
1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
Acts 2:38–41 KJV 1900
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. 41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Repentance have benefits- Psalm 103:2
Psalm 103:2 KJV 1900
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits:
When we take space to repent God will....Psalm 103: 3-5
Psalm 103:3–5 KJV 1900
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; So that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
When we take space to repent and obey God
Deuteronomy 28:2–14 KJV 1900
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. 3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. 5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. 6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. 7 The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. 8 The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. 9 The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways. 10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee. 11 And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee. 12 The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. 13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them: 14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
Let cry out the LORD and repent … that he may heal our land.
2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV 1900
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
