PRAYNG FOR ISRAEL AND THE CONFLICT HAPPENING...

Story - imagining David sitting on a hillside watching the sun…and having a moment… a moment of understanding grace.. all the things he has done and wil do.. covered by the God who created the universe.. and here he is reflecting on it.. Space.. the sun.. the word of His God and the relentless mercy and forgiveness..

Read psalm 19

who can discern their own errors?

Forgive my hidden faults..

Me- i know for me.. theres sooo many errors and mistakes and wrong turns that i made in my life.. either visible or invisible.. either out in the open or behind closed doors.. theres been a lot of times in my life that i cant belive God still loved me after.. or still chose me… and as i and im sure many of you looked upon what’s going on in Israel.. and quite frankly I hate it and i have no idea what to do outside of prayer and what I think is the first step..

we - we all have those lists.. those mistakes.. those errors and hidden sins..

and we live in a world that often says YOU ARE YOUR MISTAKES.. the reason your life is this way is because of those sins and faults…what do we do with these lists? and I’m here to remind us today..

“That either visible or invisible.. your mistakes, faults and sins are and will be forgiven by the blood of Jesus Christ. “

God - Psalm 19:12 “12 But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults.”

Who can understand his errors? In the previous verse David reflected on the warnings found in the word of God, and in the great reward found in obeying God’s word. This made him reflect on the times and ways he had ignored the warnings and not kept the word.

i. In asking “Who can understand his errors?” David understood that he had ignored and disobeyed God’s word even more than he was aware of. What he knew was enough to make him concerned; his actual errors before God were still worse.

ii. Notably, the fact that we cannot understand our errors does not excuse us from them. We are still accountable for such errors and faults before God and must trust in His atonement to cleanse us from these errors and secret faults.

like he says in psalm 51 forgive meee make me whiter than snow.. cleanse me..

b. Cleanse me from secret faults: David wisely prayed this prayer, knowing that he could not know just how many his errors were before God. He needed cleansing even from the sins and faults that were secret to him.

i. “We desire the inner purity of heart. But this is peculiarly God’s prerogative. It is his work to cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of his Holy Spirit. ‘YOU CLEANSE ME.’” (Meyer)

PSALM 23.. YOU REFRESH MY SOUL..

ii. Secret faults: “From those which I have committed, and have forgotten; from those for which I have not repented; from those which have been committed in my heart, but have not been brought to act in my life; from those which I have committed without knowing that they were sins, sins of ignorance; and from those which I have committed in private, for which I should blush and be confounded were they to be made public.” (Clarke)

You - So whats the next step for you? whats the encouragement? i have some things for you..

It starts with a question..

Do you really believe what God says in his word?

The mistakes, error and sins will be endless in this life.. but his mercy forgivness is so everlasting..

Romans 8:1 “1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,”

If you feel the holy spirit convicting you.. confess to someone you trust like it says in james 5

the Lords prayer - forgive my sins..

10 min quiet time.. to memorize romans 8:1 read the lords prayer..

and really ask your self if you truly believe what you think you believe....

We - With the world really being filled with conflict and despondency. we have to be the beacon of hope.. we have to be a family that realllllly belives what we say we believe..

That either visible or invisible.. your mistakes, faults and sins are and will be forgiven by the blood of Jesus Christ. “

Forgive me Lord for the things I take for granted

Like how many times you rescued me

Thru every heart ache and pain you were there

Holding my hand and lending me a shoulder to cry on

Thru all the abuse Lord you were there

You tried to give me a new life

To find me running back to the old one

I know you never wanted me to go thru all of that

You were always there for me

I just couldn’t see thru all the fog

I tried to pour my troubles out in the bottle

Trying to find my own way of life

But the liqour wasn’t my friend

My way of life Lord don’t work for me

Please forgive me for forgetting you were there all along

For not reaching out my hand and grabbing yours

I lay down my life to you Lord

Please show me a new way

Like a baby learning to drink milk

I may stumble and fall along the way

But Lord I know you are there to pick me back up

I love you Lord and I know you will always be my best friend

Please forgive me Lord and give me a second chance
