Intro

Good evening, ( or good morning) my name is Lamar Ball I am 17 y/o and I am in my senior year of high school. My dad is the new pastor at First Baptist Church Gautier. Our family moved here from Adamsville, TN, which is relatively 6 hours away. It is an honor to be with you here this evening. Tonight I will be preaching on the Judgement of God and man. Now we as humans can be pretty judgmental can’t we? Much less southern Baptists. now we as humans have a tendency to over judge what is not ours to Judge. We like to get into other peoples businesses. However we don’t like when people know our business, especially when they are told by someone who isn’t you. We also have the tendency to try to fix problems that aren’t ours to fix. Myself included. but we need to realize that we need to look inward before we look out. In Matthew 7:1-6 Christ says:
Matthew 7:1–6 CSB
1 “Do not judge, so that you won’t be judged. 2 For you will be judged by the same standard with which you judge others, and you will be measured by the same measure you use. 3 Why do you look at the splinter in your brother’s eye but don’t notice the beam of wood in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the splinter out of your eye,’ and look, there’s a beam of wood in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First take the beam of wood out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to take the splinter out of your brother’s eye. 6 Don’t give what is holy to dogs or toss your pearls before pigs, or they will trample them under their feet, turn, and tear you to pieces.
^pray^

Do Not Judge.

Often times people will say “don’t judge me” or “its not your place to judge” and they’ll use the excuse that the Bible says not to judge. While that is true to a certain extent you also have to look at the context its used in. You cant just say “the bible says don’t judge without finishing the rest of the verse. In its entirety it says,
Matthew 7:1 CSB
1 “Do not judge, so that you won’t be judged.
meaning that if you don’t want to be judged then don’t judge. for when we judge God will judge us in the same manner. it says in the second verse
Matthew 7:2 CSB
2 For you will be judged by the same standard with which you judge others, and you will be measured by the same measure you use.
God has a sense of humor and he will use it. How ever you judge people will determine how God judges you. now us as people can’t help but to judge. Thats just how we are wired. We chose to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. after Adam and Eve ate they had a new understanding they then knew that they had done wrong in the sight of God. Our delicate minds can’t not judge. wether good or bad. the food at the resturant is it good or bad. the cloths at the store, are they fassionable or not. is a person good or bad. God has given us the ability to discern the things in life, but we do not have the right to detirmine whether someone is good ir not.

The beam and the speck.

in verses 3-5 Jesus says
Matthew 7:3–5 CSB
3 Why do you look at the splinter in your brother’s eye but don’t notice the beam of wood in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the splinter out of your eye,’ and look, there’s a beam of wood in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First take the beam of wood out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to take the splinter out of your brother’s eye.
we are all evil in the sight of God. we are here on earth to help each other and lift each other up but we need to do it the right way. if someone is doing something you know is wrong, then yes by all means help them, but make sure you are in such a position to do so. and do it in a holy manner, not in a manner of “oh I’m better than you.” NO! We need to be like Christ and help people in a loving way. when we negatively judge people all we’re doing is hurting each other. we need to go through our lives with a good atitude about everything we do, in 1 Corinthians Paul writes,
1 Corinthians 10:31 CSB
31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.
if you go through the McDonald’s drive through and they give you a large fry instead of a medium, its ok. if there is a minor inconvienence in life, its ok, its not the end of the world. God has given us new life. a life in which we get to live with Him rather than without. so we need to start serving Him like we are really saved. Jesus cared enough to come and die for us. Now if we are saved death is one of the best thing to happen, because then we will be in the presence of the Lord. To die is easy but to live is hard. we need to start living for Christ rather than waiting till death.

God’s judgement.

In the end God is just and we are not. The creator has the right to judge our inner heart. we have no idea what each other have been through, there fore we can not accuratly judge god or evil in a person. thankfully the bible lays it out in Luke 18: 19 Jesus says...
Luke 18:19 CSB
19 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus asked him. “No one is good except God alone.
BUT, in Christ we are made good. we are give the free gift of salvation. So we need to love and treat each other with respect rather than having the “I’m better than you” attitude. No, we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, without a judgmental mindset but forgiveness and mercy.
