14 And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.
15 But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.
16 And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.
17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.
18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.
19 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.
20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
21 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:
22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.
23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.
26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
Something I see as things in this world get crazier and crazier is that the number of distractions from the hope we have in Christ, a growing number of counterfeiters leading people astray from the true Christ according to His gospel. It is important for me, and I would expect it would be important for you to know if what you are being offered is a counterfeit or genuine. I believe the best way to know if what you have is genuine, if what you believe about who Jesus is is right or not is to KNOW THE WORD, what it says.
I still don’t know God’s word well enough. I do not spend enough time in the word.
A youth pastor friend of mine posted a video that portrayed a person who treated their Bible as people do their cell phone.
The greatest outcome, the greatest understanding, the greatest thing that can come from reading your Bible is that you have an encounter with God, you see Him through His son, and you accept Him as your savior, recognizing Him for who He really is.
ANNND with that faith and understanding of who He is and what He has done, there are additional benefits. He will help you, through His word, to begin to see the lies this world hurtles at you, the counterfeit versions of Jesus, AND, you will even get to know more about your enemy the devil, his minions, and their schemes.
Because in a war, in a battle, it matters what you know about your enemy. Because as your enemy is seeking to steal kill and destroy you, they will use any means necessary to do so.
Deception, chaos, mental, physical, emotional, spiritual attacks, lies, and more.
EXAMPLE - Share about how in many, if not most movies, there is a trope, a pattern in the story when there is a hero of the story. One story in-perticular I’ll reference is a movie called Cinderella man. Boxing movie about a man named James J. Braddoc. He studied his enemy by watching him fight someone else, and then when the time came and he found out he was going to fight the number 1 fighter at the time in America, he watched a tape of his enemy killing another man in the boxing ring. When it came time to fight, he found himself almost beaten, having been knocked down. The enemy came in land the final blow, but James J. Braddoc (in the movie Cinderella man) had seen this approach before, he had seen the stance and body language before, James knew his enemy was coming in for the killing blow. The movie pans to images in Jame’s mind of his wife and kids and some of the hardships they were going through because of the great depression. He waits for his moment when there is an opening and takes it, surprising his enemy and countering with a landing punch.
It behooves us to know our enemy.
Some are scared to spend time reading about the enemy for different reasons
SOME are scared because they don’t want to give the enemy more attention then they give God. Well, easy fix to that, spend more time in the word that focuses on Him and His son, then you can spend at least a little bit of time knowing what His word says about the enemy.
SOME don’t want to give the enemy and glory in what he and his minions have done.
OTHERS realize how much our culture lifts up, is fascinated with, and chases after the
The first group is fearful of becoming the second group.
What does the devil and his minions do? - Ultimate goal and motivation is to be glorified. God is the only one who deserves glory, worship, recognition, but the enemies goal is to steal all that.
FALL OF THE ENEMY
KNOW HIS MOTIVES
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
KNOW HIS METHODS
They have/can impact a person physically -

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
They lie and teach falsely - DECEIT, LIES, LURE!
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
They possessed
They coordinated their efforts. They strategize and have HVT

31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
Jesus led by the spirit into the wilderness/desert and tempted by the enemy
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

THEY INFLUENCE LEADERS OF NATIONS -
13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
Don’t lose hope, do not fear the enemy. Not because “you got this” but because HE HAS YOU.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?
16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
You are NOT alone in your battles
1.) The armies of angels outnumber the armies of the enemy.
2.) God is with you.
3.) Jesus is greater than the enemy
4.) The enemy is outnumbered
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

The STRONG MAN

They are OUTNUMBERED
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
If you want the STRONG MAN, JESUS on your side, to CHANGE YOUR LIFE, and FILL YOU UP with what is GOOD rather than that which is EVIL, put your trust in HIS AUTHORITY and POWER
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
GOD SOMEHOW will even use the efforts that have been carried out by the devil and his fallen followers
14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
